  • Opie finds a baby!

I really didn't get the point of this episode--there was no moral message, no fleshed out characters--just an excuse to see kids dealing with babies--the writing is quite poor--and the direction in this somewhat confusing. When we finally do see the parents at the end of the episode, we are left wondering who are they and how do they live in Mayberry? If only they had been part of the storyline, weaved in to make a point, this might have been a classic episode. The appearance of Jack Nicholson as the father of the baby is this episode's only curiousity factor.moreless
