The Women's Historical Society believes that the direct descendant of a Revolutionary War hero is living in Mayberry. Pride and joy, however, give way to shock and embarrassment when it's announced just who that person is.
Andy's suspicions are aroused when Ellie seems to be spending a lot of time with Mayberry's handsome new bachelor doctor. Prompted by Bee, taunted by Opie and "assisted" by Barney, he decides to take a stand.
