  • Barney's First Car
    Episode 27
    Barney uses his life savings of three hundred dollars to buy a new car. On his first drive, after he buys it, the car begins to fall apart. Eventually the car breaks down. A tow truck appears and Barney thinks its Gomer. It turns out that the tow truck is driven by the crook who sold him the car in the first place.moreless

    Opie doesn't like his new teacher "Old Lady Crump" because she gives too much homework. Andy says some things that Opie twists and tells to Miss Crump, who is furious. When she bursts into the Sherriff's Office, Andy realizes that "Old Lady Crump" is actually young and very attractive. Realizing that he has put his foot in his mouth, Andy straightens things out, and this is what seems to be a new beginning for Andy and Miss Crump.moreless

    A young man is accused of being the mysterious crook who's been robbing Wally's filling station. Andy and Barney try to determine his guilt or innocence in a variety of methods.

    When a spoiled kid moves to town, he thinks he can walk all over the townsfolk, including Andy and Barney. Of course when his bike gets impounded and his dad wants to sell it, Arnold gets a rude awakening.

    Rafe Hollister, a simple farm man, with an incredible voice is encouraged by Andy to enter the Mayberry singing contest and ends up winning the contest.This is to the dismay of the Mayor and other officials who are not pleased that Rafe (whose appearance is less than perfect) will represent Mayberry.moreless

    An escaped goat eats a case of dynamite that was going to be used for blasting, and now Mayberry is in danger. Especially when Otis Campbell gets drunk.

    A businessman from Raleigh breaks down in Mayberry on a Sunday and can't seem to escape!

    Barney is goaded into ticketing the governor's car and mistakenly believes Andy is setting him up for a dressing-down by the governor. In fact, the governor is coming to Mayberry to give him a personal commendation for performing a job without showing favorites. In the midst of all the action, Otis secretly spikes the water tank, giving both Barney and Mayor Stoner a surprise snootful.moreless

    Opie must learn to defend himself against a bully.
  • The Bank Job
    Episode 13
    Barney tries to convince everyone of the lack of security of the Mayberry Bank. He is furious when no one will listen. He takes matters into his own hands, but ends up stuck in the bank vault (!) instead. When real robbers come to the bank,however, Barney is proven right.
  • The Bed Jacket

    It's Aunt Bee's birthday and she longs for a special present: a blue bed jacket.
  • Convicts-at-Large
    Episode 11
    Barney and Floyd run out of gas while coming home from a fishing trip. They find while looking for a telephone and are captured by three female escaped convicts.
  • Opie's Rival
    Episode 10
    Opie is afraid that Peggy, Andy's new girlfriend will take his place in his father's heart, and sets out to sabotage their relationship. In the end, the pain he causes his father is enough to make him tell the truth and resolve the conflict.
  • 11/26/62
    Madeline Grayson, a rich widow that Floyd has been "pen-palling" with, announces in her next letter that she wants to meet him face-to-face. Of course, the whole time, Floyd has been pretending in his letters to be a wealthy entrepreneur. Upon news of the visit, Andy and Aunt Bee help Floyd in his masquerade by borrowing a house in town from the Devereauxs, who Andy is house-sitting for. Andy poses as Floyd's son who is home visiting from medical school, while Bee is Floyd's "maid." Floyd realizes he can't go on pretending, but can't bring himself to confess. Andy reveals to Mrs. Grayson that he's the town sheriff and, before he can explain about Floyd, gets her to reveal that she's really not a rich widow and goes around sponging off rich men.moreless
  • The Mayberry Band
    Episode 8
    Mayor Stoner declares the town's marching band a disgrace and refuses to allocate money for it's annual trip to the state competition. Andy takes matters into his own hands, with help from 'Bobby Fleet and his Band with a Beat.'
  • Lawman Barney
    Episode 7
    Barney's ability to be a lawman is put to the test with some itinerant peddlers and he fails. His confidence is shattered until Andy steps in behind the scenes and warns these peddlers of "Fife the Fierce Barney's next encounter with them leads him to believe he is truly respected. Unfortunately the peddlers learn the truth and confront him again. This time, with some help from Andy he rises to the challenge and truly demonstrates where his power comes from.moreless

    Andy shows up for a date with Peggy McMillan only to learn her old friend Don has arrived unexpectedly. Andy departs angrily when Peggy breaks their date and then encounters more problems when Barney decides to make things better by fixing him up with another girl. Andy ends up getting himself punched in the eye, but manages to fix things up with Peggy, and they live happily ... until the end of this episode ... and then we never see her againmoreless
  • The Cow Thief
    Episode 5
    Upset when Andy and Barney can't solve a cow-napping case fast enough to suit him, Mayor Stoner calls in an investigator from the state capital to put things right. Sure enough, the state's expert is impressive at first, but Andy isn't ready to turn out to pasture just yet.

    Andy and Opie are left alone while Aunt Bee goes out of town. Peggy, Andy's new girlfriend, takes great delight in helping the boys handle things. Trouble is that Floyd's warnings of Peggy using her feminine wiles to "snare" Andy cause Andy to be fearful that she is indeed trying to "walk him down the aisle".moreless
