  • Mayberry Mafia!

This is an EXCELLENT episode primarily because we feature on one of the most underrated characters--Floyd the Barber. His genius spills out in this episode, and we are truly in for a treat! Seeing the innocent people of Mayberry deal with bookies and racetracks is hysterical. Don't miss the scene where Aunt Bee recounts the "gossip" from Sara the operator about Cindy Lou not even showing. When Barney sets himself up in drag, the episode moves into high gear and even more laughs. What makes this episode particularly good is that so many characters are included and the show really feels connected. An excellent example of why this show is so endearing!moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Although Floyd laments numerous times about having a "Two Chair Shop" this is the one and only time that Floyd's ever sports two barber's chairs

  • QUOTES (4)

    • Opie: Pa, I don't wanna haircut. Those little hairs get down inside my shirt and they itch.
Andy: You can take a bath and wash 'em off.
Opie: A bath! I have to take a bath, too?
      Andy: That's right.
Opie: This is turnin' out worse than I thought.

    • Barney: You're almost as funny as Floyd, you know that? Why don't you two team up, call yourselves Frick and Frack?

    • Andy: Look out, now, a two-chair shop. Now there's somethin' you've always wanted, Floyd.
      Floyd: Yeah, a two-chair ... yeah!
Andy: You-you could put a sign in the window, sayin' "Two Chairs, No Waitin'."
Floyd: Yeah, gee whiz, two chair ... and I got the magazines to swing it!

    • Barney: What is it, Andy? I got your call at the diner and I came over as fast as I could make it.
Andy: Well, it ain't all that urgent, but we do have a kind of a nasty situation here.
Barney: We do? Nasty? In Mayberry? (checks shirt pocket) See if I got my bullet.
