This is one of those episodes that could have been GREAT--but for the ending. Watching Aunt Bee become a local chef on t.v. while trying to arrange for Andy and Opie to have someone come in and cook for them, and then having to watch Andy TRY to cook for Opie is hysterical. There are some laugh out loud moments in this episode. It is one of Ron Howard's finest comedic moments--in response to his father's cooking he tells him that he's going to bone up on his vitamins...just be safe. That scene is priceless. The resolution of the story, with Aunt Bee somehow figuring out that there really isn't anyone cooking for them, and emerging from the kitchen, having quit her t.v. job is just a little too pat for me. I think they missed an incredible opportunity for more humor in the resolution of the episode. It felt almost as if the writers went to lunch, forgot what they were doing and then just ended it to make sure that Aunt Bee wasn't left at the studio!
