  • Aunt Bee and the Dry Cleaner

    9.0
This is a very well written episode, where we begin to see more of Aunt Bee's softer side. The character of the dry cleaner is excellently played and even Clara has a critical role in this episode. Watching Andy try to encourage Aunt Bee to marry, while all the while simply tolerating this irritating man, is quite funny. It is Opie who finally gets to the heart of the matter and wants to know if Aunt Bee truly loves this man. This is when Andy actually refers to his wife (Opie's mom) when Opie asks him if he and his mother had this deep sort of love. Andy gets misty and says quietly yes. It's a wonderful moment--and important in the telling of this series.
