Bedazzled by a Beefy T

Season 3, Episode 15, Aired
EDIT

Episode Summary

The final four's task this week is to design and sell commemorative t-shirts, using a professional artist and the hip fashion store Scoop, for Hanes' 50th anniversary. Neither of the teams get along well, when Craig and Kendra, alone on a team, fight the entire task, and Tana distracts her team with finding the Bedazzler, a tool used to decorate the t-shirts. In the end, Networth's distractions cost them the task; they only sell $1147.95 worth of shirts to Magna's sale of $2705. As a reward, Magna competes in an Aerial Dog Fight to let off steam and have some fun. Networth, on the other hand, winds up having no fun in the boardroom, where Trump fires Alex because of his losing record.moreless

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Previously onThe Apprentice, Alex and Bren were really proud of themselves for a product that was pretty sucky. Of course, they went to the boardroom where Bren shot himself in the foot by saying that he wasn't a risk taker. George moans, Carolyn rolls her eyes, and Trump shoots out the handBren's fired. There goes the geeky albino demographic of The Apprentice.

After the boardroom "I suck at taking risks" fiasco, Alex comes back to the suite, hardly scathed, and takes a new approach, a new strategy, so to speak. He tells the camera that he's going to make everyone think that he's weak, and then snap back with a vengeance. "The worst person to get in a fight with is someone who has nothing to lose." Um.except for your spot on Donald Trumps' reality show. The next morning, while getting ready, Kendra and Tana talk about what would happen if Alex chose Tana to be on his team for the next task. That would be really mad, according to Kendra, because they don't get along. Hopefully, she adds, Alex isn't mean enough to do that. But is he? Of course. Rona calls the suite and tells Craig to tell all of the candidates to meet in the lobby of Trump tower in one hour, where he will introduce the next task.

Down in the lobby, Trump announces "You're down to the final four, so no one's a loser." Yea, but what about the three of them who don't win? DT tells Alex to pick another person to be on his team, and unsurprisingly chooses Tana, making Kendra groan. Now, as the Donald points out, there is one book smart member and one street smart member on each team. The task this week involves Hanes, who has sold over one billion t-shirts in the fifty years that it's been in business. The candidates must create a new t-shirt commemorating the fifty years that Hanes has been running for, and sell the shirts at Scoop. Each of them will get a famous (supposedly) Pop Culture artist. Net Worth gets to work with the really cool Burton Morris, who helps them out with their made-up logo for Rock Star Couture. Magna, on the other hand, gets to work with a Hawaiian-heart-shirt-clad Romera Britto. Sorry if I got that name wrong, for their logo, T-Shirt couture. Project Managers are found in Tana for Net Worth, who owns her own fashion store back home, and Kendra for Magna, just because she didn't want Craig to screw her up.

This week's "Words from the Donald" ("Keep your Eyes on the Prize" because "sidetracking kills you.") come into play very quickly, as soon as she gets sidetracked with this invention, the Bedazzler, that she wants to use on the T-Shirts (the design is a patriotic star with wings) to make it more of a desired item. She realizes that there's only one store that sells these fake rhinestones, and that's an hour and a half away, in Staten Island. She doesn't care, and she takes Alex and herself "hell far" just so that she can get the beads. (Oh, and I just wanna share with everyone that at 11:14 this morning, I finally realized what the episode title, "Bedazzled by a Beefy T" meant. Like, Bedazzled is for the Bedazzler, and the T is like the T-Shirts they have to sell. I'm still trying to figure out what the Beefy part means.) Over at Magna, who have decided on a funky heart with wings (well, Kendra decided on itCraig's input wasn't accepted.), Craig and Kendra explode again, this time because of pricing. Soon, it evolves into a fight about time management, as well as design choice, and the two argue all the way from the work room to the elevator to the taxi cab. Craig says "You look at me like I have a problem" to Kendra. Maybe because he does! Then, to the camera, Kendra asks the audience "Is it just me, or is Craig a butt***** (I don't know what they bleeped out, but I'm guessing it was whore)." Yes, he is Kendra, he is.

The next day, the teams set up shop in a hip and trendy (do they even use those words anymore) store called Scoop. Net Worth has decided to sell their Limited Edition Wearable Art for 42.99 for a man's shirt and 54.99 for a woman's shirt, because it had the rhinestones on it. I don't know how rhinestones add in an extra 12 dollars, but hey, it's Tana's shirt and Tana's Bedazzler. So back off! Magna, on the other hand, sells their short sleeve shirts for 25 dollars, while their long sleeve shirts go for 35 dollars. After all, it is just a T-Shirt. Anyway, what's really important during the selling is that Magna decides to really dwell on the fact that these shirts are by Romera Britto, and they send out flyers and emails to all of Mr. Britto's fans and art collectors in New York. Net Worth doesn't and though both teams sell their shirts well, that could be the reason that a few hours later, in the first boardroom, Magna is deemed the winner, after selling 101 shirts, making over $2,000, as opposed to making $1,000 with 33 shirts, Net Worth's total).

The reward for Magna seemed kinda fun, even though I didn't really understand it. They got to fly in fighter jets with two trained pilots, as they "dog fought" one another. According to Kendra "The whole task was a catfight. And then we had a dogfight." Kendra "wins" the fight (I actually thought that when she shot at Craig's plane, he was really gonna crash into the water), even though Craig claims that "I know that I could take Kendra in an aerial combat fight. I could do that without a plane." The victor, Kendra, makes her final statement of the episode, saying that "I have two more weeks and two more dogfights. And then I'm The Apprentice." All that I could think about was that if Tana got fired tonight, I hope so, as I don't want Alex or Craig to win.

Back at the suite, Tana's heartbroken that her shirts didn't sell as good as Magna's (in my opinion) uglier shirts did. Oh wellthey go to the Boardroom anyway, heartbroken or not. The first argument that comes up during the boardroom is the fact that their team did not market well at all, because Tana ignored Alex's idea to come up with a marketing plan in the taxi cab on the way to get the Bedazzler. Then someone says something about New York, which, according to DT, is the "fashion capitol of the world." Is that a fact? When Trump sends Tana and Alex out of the room so that he can discuss with Carolyn and George, Carolyn's the only one who sticks up for Tana, and I think that she's kinda sick of Trump firing all of the strong women and hiring carbon-copy men (He fired Jennifer, Amy, Pamela, Erin, Angie and hired Bill and Kelly). When the two finally come back into the boardroom, it's even more apparent that Trump's losing his voice. Anyway, Tana comes out of her shell, showing some fire, and gives a complete and thorough analysis of why she should stay and Alex should be fired. After all, she does have a better track record than Alex. She's only lost once as PM and has won twice. Alex has lost twice (Staples and Wearable Tech) and has only won once (Graffiti Ads). This seems to have slipped his mind, as he tells Trump that he's won once and lost once. Trump immediately reprimands Alex for forgetting about a loss, and I realize what a good memory Trump has, as he says that Alex hasn't won in 8 weeks. However, Tana was still "terrible" (Why is everyone always "terrible?), but she came up with the ideas and did most of the selling. Alex "seemed to just sit back and wait for Tana to fail." With that, Alex is fired, and he silently makes his way out of the boardroom and down to his taxi cab. Thank God. If Tana would have went, that would've sucked, because Tana's done a great job on several tasks, whereas Alex has done an okay job on a few of them.

In the taxi cab, Alex reveals that he's going to take advantage of what he learned on The Apprentice and start being more open to new ideas. He's going to try to project some of his business ideas and make real money with them, perhaps learning from some of the Street Smarts people.

Next week on The Apprentice, it's time for the interviews! YAY! No, not reallybut by 9:30 of next Thursday, we'll all discover who will be in the final two, and these candidates will be given their task, about games.

    • When Alex gets into the taxi and leaves, the taxi almost crashes into a black car that was in the other lane. The black car slams on the brakes, narrowly avoiding the taxi! Edit
    • Craig is now the last man remaining. Of all the male candidates in the history of the show, Craig so far holds the highest winning streak of seven wins in a row. Craig has even beaten Kelly, season two's Apprentice, who only had a winning streak of five wins. In total, he has one more win than Kelly. Craig won ten times and Kelly won nine. Edit
    • This is the first time the final four will have a regular task rather than go through the interviews. Edit
  • Notes

    ADD NOTES
    • Tana is reshuffled back to Networth in this episode. Edit
    • The Project Managers in this episode are Kendra for Magna and Tana for Networth. This makes Kendra the ruling candidate, winning three times as Project Manager, and not losing once. Kendra has also gone every task without going to the final boardroom, a feat no other candidate has achieved in the history of the show. Edit
    • Networth loses the task, bringing their losing streak to nine in a row, and the candidates on Networth, Alex and Tana, are sent to the boardroom. Alex is fired, mainly because he "forgets" about his 1-2 track record. It also hurts him that Tana's track record is 2-1. In the boardroom, Trump and his advisors have negative things to say about Tana, the first time that she has ever received negative feedback. Edit
