Episode Summary

EDIT
Viral Video Challenge
AIRED:
After a corporate restructuring that sent Joan Rivers, Natalie Gulbis, and Khloe Kardashian to Kotu and Jesse James to Athena (and left an absent Brian McKnight without a team until next week), this week's task was to write, produce, and edit a viral video for All Small And Mighty detergent. Both teams made very offensive videos, and neither team won. Both Athena and Kotu went to the boardroom, where Tionne Watkins was fired from Athena for volunteering to go to the boardroom unnecessarily, and Khloe Kardashian was fired from Kotu for a DUI conviction completely unrelated to the show.moreless

  • The Apprentice has went from tool to stool

    1.0
Chloe got a bad rap! Her previous actions or prior life before coming onto the show should have never been a factor. Shes paid her debt to society and seems to be sincere about her actions. If that were the case then Dennis Rodman (poster child of rebellion and irresponsibility) should have never been allowed on the show. His show did make sense once upon a time and was used as a marketing tool now its all about who he likes for the week or whatever reasoning he has behind it. There's no rhyme or reason behind his decisions at this point. Its crap!moreless
  • It's painfully obvious that this show is 99.995% about keeping people for ratings, and nothing more. The mystery firings, the garbage 20k charity payouts, the stupid tasks... And now this week's boardroom. Trump. You're fired!moreless

There is little I can say about the episode itself that wasn't already said in the excellent review by Alderos. But I will say that the Jesse James commercial was freakin' hilarious, there's nothing wrong with using "midgets", and All obviously has their heads shoved up their backsides. What's the point in trying to market a viral video to 60 year old women who's idea of technology is an 8-track and a washing machine? This is the Internet generation! Market to Internet users! The James video did that brilliantly. I guarantee it will be in the top 10 YouTube hits for this next week+ - proving the All executives really only knew a few buzzwords and decided to make a marketing campaign around them (Video? Viral? That sounds swell!) , and had NO CLUE what a good campaign would consist of.

The fact that Clint survived the boardroom at all makes the show a complete farce. It was bad enough that Rodman lasted longer than he did (obviously an attempt by the show to boost ratings, punting the far more competent Green & Hamilton, before their hands were forced by the absolute train-wreck that was Dennis). However, as bad as the Black video was - Trump was worse. That was the worst display of humanity I have ever seen televised. I hate drunk drivers as much as anyone (who has been fortunate not to lose anyone)... But his TELEVISED treatment of Khloe was unacceptable by any standards of decency. And how does it happen that Rodman is treated with the kid gloves and gets this merciful intervention, while Khloe is made out to be the second coming of Hitler Oh, because Rodman NEVER drove drunk... Of course.

And he kept Black, but tossed Tionne. This gets its own paragraph of incredulity.

It's painfully obvious that this show is 99.995% about keeping people for ratings, and nothing more. The mystery firings, the garbage 20k charity payouts, the stupid tasks (wedding dresses?)... And now this week's boardroom.

  • Pretty much the weirdest and worst decisions ever. Bad sequence of firing is really getting to me. RANT AND SPOILERS - BIG TIME

    5.5
Don't get me wrong, I like The Apprentice. But this episode had to be the worst I've seen in quite a while. The celebs are given the task of making a viral video for All brand detergent. Man do they screw it up - bad... Come on guys, little people? Masturbation Don't these guys watch TV? I guess not. And watching Clint was like watching paint dry... man this guy is weird. "Dishonesty and insubordination" are his big no-no's. Dude! You've got Joan Rivers on your team - you're going to get creamed! Not using the 3 gals he had was the worst mistake. And it was like that from start to finish. Clint runs with one bad idea and doesn't stop... doesn't see the ceiling falling in. They could have knocked this one out of the park. Instead we get a commercial I wouldn't watch even if they paid me. Jessie James and the ladies did pretty well with the Laundromat idea, but that's about it. The concept was good, but the ending to their commercial just ruined it.

Now to the 40 minute long pointless boardroom session. Pointless because I don't know what's up with the firing this season. Clint and Denis should have been the first people gone from the guys. Why on earth did Denis stay 4 weeks? Why would you fire Tom Green and Scott Hamilton? Why doesn't Trump see the non-team-player in Clint? I guess the horrible defense from the other men doesn't make it better either. I'm actually rooting for the women all the way in this one. Them and Jessie James, that's about it. The women at least have some flavor, some character!

Anyways, what's the point of even arguing in the boardroom, when Trump just fires you for nothing, no reason. That's the message I'm getting this season. I was really shocked when he fired Tionne - she did not deserve that. They decided on who would come back? Then he turns to Clint, Khloe, and Natalie and starts asking them about what work they have to do if they leave. Why would you base a decision on that? Base it on performance. He doesn't even ask them to defend themselves at all! Then he starts asking about charities, and he comes to Khloe and fires her because of the purpose she was raising money. Again, I was taken aback, since this was also a weird and shocking decision. If anyone should have been fired it was CLINT! But no... apparently, Trump's not watching the same show we're watching (which is quite possible, but still, get the facts before you fire!). Not cool, man, not cool.moreless

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Project Manager Melissa chooses to bring in Tionne and Brande for their part in Athena's loss, and Project Manager Clint chose to bring in Khloe and Natalie for their part in Kotu's loss. For volunteering herself for the boardroom when it just wasn't necessary, Tionne is fired from Athena, while a DUI conviction unrelated to The Apprentice results in Khloe getting fired from Kotu.

    • The Project Managers in this episode are Clint for Kotu and Melissa for Athena. Neither team wins, so neither Project Managers wins $20,000 for their chosen charity.
