  • Who is the man who built the trap that killed the men and imprisoned the girl who went to the house that Jack built?

    9.5
One of the very best and cleverest "Avengers" episodes, as well-remembered as "The Cybernauts" and quite similar in having as its villain a mad scientist who believes in automation so strongly that he's happy to see the whole human race subjugated by his diabolical machineries. Quite how moribund Professor Keller could have constructed his machine-house of horrors at such colossal expense without anyone noticing (even in so remote a rural area) is never explained, and surely someone would have seen to his being buried instead of leaving his embalmed corpse at the house's centre? Admittedly, it all adds to the creepy atmosphere; and the script's manifold ingenuities prevent one from thinking too much about such mundane things.moreless
