Neugog Chemicals, the chemical plant seen when Batgirl starts telling her story, is named after the show's supervising producer, Michael Goguen. His last name is reversed to form the name of the plant.
Pamela's legs are covered by steel, which is why she can't move out of the way of the falling chemicals. However, when the lift is used to pull her out of the cloud, the metal is gone.
When Temblor is outside Chlorogene X's headquarters, Batman keeps his hands away from each other, but the lights magically turn on after the Batarang barrage.
Also, when Temblor turns himself on at the chemical plant to smash Barbara, he turns on the right gauntlet, but both turn on. Pay attention, because he then reachs over to turn on the left one, which is already on!
Commissioner Gordon: (to Barbara) Pam's a bad seed.
Temblor: (To Pamela) You see, boss, the way it works is: When you don't pay, you pay!
Barbara: Hey, we're good for it. We'll raise the money with ... a bake sale! You like brownies?
Temblor: You dialed D for Destruction!
Temblor: Let's rumble!
(After possessed Batman starts attacking her)
Batgirl: Guess you were serious about not wanting a sidekick!
Batgirl: Yup, it's official ... I hate vegetables!
Temblor: Howdy, I'm Temblor. Let's shake!
Batman: (to Temblor) And here I thought earthquakes struck without warning.
Commissioner Gordon: Set up a perimeter. If Mr. Quake so much as breathes, I want someone there to tell me what he had for lunch.
Poison Ivy: You're getting to be a real thorn in my side, Batman.
Batman: And you're no rose, Poison Ivy.
Pamela: That stuff mutates plants! I don't wanna see what it does to humans!
Barbara: (to Temblor) I'm warning you, I'm-I'm an Olympic hopeful!
Barbara: Did one of your twigs snap, Pam? You hired a thug!
Pamela: You'd be surprised what you can find on the Internet.
Pamela's Mom: Pammy! I need you to take out the trash!
Temblor: Who was that?!
Pamela: That ... was my henchman.
In the comics, Robin became Batman's partner before Batgirl. However, the WB put Batgirl in because Robin was already in the other WB series Teen Titans, and the creators of The Batman had no copyrights to Robin.
Temblor is another word for earthquake in Spanish.
Original International Air Dates:
United Kingdom: April 24, 2006
Czech Republic: January 24, 2010 on TV Nova
This marks the first time in the history of Batman mythos that Batgirl appears before Robin does. This Batgirl is like an amalgam between her and Robin because this Batgirl is younger than the formers.
Temblor, like King Tut and Harley Quinn before him, claims the title of first original Bat-villain in this series.
Coincidentally, there is an episode of Batman: The Animated Series called "Batgirl Returns."
According to Commissioner Gordon, Batman is no longer on Chief Rojas' most wanted list.
Due to Ming-Na's involvement in the new NBC series Inconceivable, she was unable to continue her role as Detective Ellen Yin.
The way Poison Ivy gets her powers in this episode is almost exactly like that of the Jokers' classic origin: falling into a vat of chemicals.
Temblor means "minor earthquake" in Spanish.
Batgirl's costume in this show is similar to the costume worn during the silver age in the comics.
The new theme song is written and performed by Andy Sturmer, who is also responsible for the Teen Titans theme song.
Temblor is a little like Shriek from Batman Beyond. Shriek was also a villian who caused mass destruction by using devices on his arms.
Poison Ivy goes from her Batman: TAS/comic version: sexy seductive genius scientist to smart teenager turned half-plant.
Batgirl makes a reference to being Batwoman - one of Batman's sidekicks in the comics.
This is the first episode of The Batman to feature voice-over narration.
Batgirl changes from Batman: TAS - teenager, her outfit has a skirt, an arm bracelet, no leggings, no boots, small shoes, and short puffy hair.
Batgirl, Poison Ivy, and Temblor are introduced.
With orange-tinted skin, green eyes and red hair, Poison Ivy resembles people from the planet Tameran, like Starfire from the Teen Titans series.
Starting with season three, if you listen closely, you can hear the beginning notes of a remixed version of the classic 1960's Batman series.
Not only is this the first time we see a Batgirl costume with white eye lenses, its color is also a nod to the sparkling purple outfit Yvonne Craig donned in Batman (1966).
Poison Ivy: You've been terminated.
"You've been terminated" is a reference to the three Terminator films starring Arnold Schwarzenegger. The situation at hand when Ivy says "You've been terminated" is also similar to one that occurs in the first of the three films.
Title: Batgirl Begins
The title seems to parody the recent Batman movie, Batman Begins.
