  • A virus that hits kids like a bullet is spreading around Gotham. Green Arrow suspects Bruce Wayne is behind it, considering it's being spread around the Wayne Labs area, but he's very wrong. Let the truth be told!moreless

I think 'brand new' is great. A new hero and a new villain are both the definition of awesome! Honestly, though, I do not like Bruce's most recent date. She's crabby and wants her makeup PERFECT. Who's with me on the belief that she's a gender-swapped Adrian Monk?

I think Green Arrow's really cool. I liked the part when Alfred came down. That look on Oliver's face was awesome!

When Robin started getting sick, I could tell that this was no licorice soup problem. That time, he was TRYING to get sick. This time, is was pure illness. I don't know how to explain it, but Robin seemed somewhat...different. I know it's because of the sickness, but this seemed really strange. Anyone agree with me?

Anyway, to wrap it up, this is most likely my favorite episode. If the writers keep this up, this season will be the "It's eleven-thirty! PLEASE tell me you popped some popcorn!" season.moreless
  • Green Arrow! (his arrows and greenes gave him away)

I haven't expected him to appear so soon! Green Arrow is really cool , he's like a modern robin hood with some similarities to Batman ... and like I hoped - the episode didn't make him just a side-character , but it really had alot of story around him . his origin , his un-trust in rich people and the end to his jurney for revenge on Vertigo .

but sadly the fact the episode was packed with so many things in such a short time forced the episode to focuse less on vertigo and his evil plan , and more on other things , making his mark not so impressive as it could be , which caused Vertigo to look like a pretty lame villan that makes people to get dizzy . the episode haven't filled Vertigo's true potencial . and I think we should have seen more chaos being caused by his machine . like , parents panicing about their children ... and maybe some car crashes and stuff .

anyway , things on the episode were happening and getting clear very fast , and it barely felt like it has a plot at all , making it feel predictible . but after watching it and thinking about the episode as an overall , it made me realize this episode had more story , deph and things going on , than what it felt while watching it . even though it doesen't change the fact that Vertigo is the weak point of the episode (and Green Arrow is exacly the oposite) . the writing was good as always (ecxept of a couple of weird sentence cuters) the action was cool (like when green Arrow nailed tohse ninjas that grabbed batman) ohhhh and that scene with him aiming a potencialy deadly Arrow to vertigo's face was awsome! ("what did you think I was gonna do?) heh , it had a few funny moments (like the gloomy face bruce got from that blonde for his make-up comment) .

it might have handled itself better as a 2-parter but overall - I liked it . I give the episode a score of 8.9 out of 10 .moreless

  • TRIVIA (1)

  • QUOTES (7)

    • (In Batcave after Robin becomes sick)
      Batman: How are you feeling?
Robin: Remember that time I had the flu? That'd be an improvement.

    • Green Arrow: (using an acid arrow on a wall) Concentrated acid.
Batman: Phosphorous would have been faster.

    • (As Alfred follows the police)
Socialite: What are you doing?! We'll be late for the party.
Bruce: Oh, come on, it'll be fun. And it'll give you more time to work on your makeup. (Socialite glares) N-not that you need it.

    • Doctor: It started about three weeks ago, and it's been hitting kids especially hard. First dizziness, then nausea.
Dick: Bet it's the flu. I had it one time. You wouldn't believe what came out of me.

    • Batman: This is Green Arrow.
Robin: Yeah. The arrows and the greenness kind of gave it away.

    • Green Arrow: Haven't I seen you before?
      Alfred: Perhaps the renaissance fair?

    • Green Arrow: (to Alfred) You were driving that limo. The limo that belongs to ... Bruce Wayne.
Batman: Now do you see why I'm so sure of him ... Ollie?
Green Arrow: Hey! How'd you know?
Alfred: He is the Batman, after all.

  • NOTES (3)

    • This marks the second animated appearance of Count Vertigo (first appearance World's Finest Comics #251 (July 1978)), the first being in Batman: The Animated Series "Off Balance". Count Vertigo's appearance in this episode borrows from that appearance, particularly his use of an eye-piece to generate his powers, and the lack of his traditional super-villain costume.

    • This marks the first appearance of Alfred in the fifth season.

    • Green Arrow and Count Vertigo are introduced. Both of their origins are merged and altered slightly from the comics: here, Count Vertigo is a former Queen Industries employee who stole their technology to make his vertigo eyepiece. He was responsible for stranding Green Arrow on an island where he was forced to master the bow and arrow.

    • Green Arrow: I like the setup you have here. Gives me some ideas for my place in Star City.
In the earlier comics, Green Arrow had many arrow-themed names, such as the Arrowcave and Arrowcar.
