  • A Different Side of Barker.

    8.0
With a young boy's life hanging in the balance and his single mom being forced to steal in order to save his life, a different side of Barker emerges. We see tiny bits of his heart as he deals with the current case and the possible loss of a part of his previous life. This doesn't go unnoticed by Dove, who while working to find the men behind the poisoning of this young boy, is also dealing with the sudden appearance of his previously jailed brother. Except is appearance is a simple part of Beaumont's plan to woo Ellis away from Barker.moreless

    • Will: I don't give a crap about Ellis.
Raymond: Then why'd you take the fall for him?
Will: What are you talking about?
Raymond: I reviewed your manslaughter conviction, checked the medical records. Ellis stepped in on that crazy drunk. He killed that guy, not you.
      Will: You got it wrong.
Raymond: With that concussion, you were out cold. Ellis finished him off.
Will: You got it way wrong.
Raymond: I don't think so. Ellis had no record. He probably would've walked, but you protected him anyway, even knowing that with your priors they'd hit you like a ton of bricks. You took the rap. So don't feed me that "You don't care" crap. When the time comes and I call you, you're giving it a second chance. Unless you wanna end up back in that 4x8 box.
      Will: ... How'd you know?
      Raymond: I didn't. But now I do.

    • Ellis: 10 million in jewels. You're pretty loose with other people's money.
Barker: Well, what can I say? They can put it on my tab.

    • Ellis: So this isn't even a real case?
Barker: What did I just say?
Ellis: You're trashin' my weekend because some 30-and-out old-timer, with a corporate gig calls you in a panic.
Barker: Ed Marcus does not panic. He's the best damn control agent I ever had. There was a time I was met by hijackers. He shut down 60 miles of interstate just to find me and dug me out of a gravel truck by hand.
Ellis: That's why you owe him, not me.
Barker: Spoken like a true head up his ass rookie. Let's go.

    • Ellis: What?
Barker: Never turn off your phone.
Ellis: You said we had the weekend off.
Barker: I said take a few days. We're never off.
