Premiere of The Bell Telephone Hour with actor Maurice Evans, singer Harry Belafonte, Opera star Renata Tebaldi, dancer Janet Reed, pianists Arthur Gold and Robert Fizdale, The New York City Ballet and The Bil Baird Marionettes.Highlights: Harry Belafonte sings "Turn Around", "Hallelujah I Love Her So", "Jump Down, Spin Around", "Take My Mother Home" and "In That Great Gettin' Up Mornin'". Renata Teb aldi performs arias from Madame Butterfly "Un bel di (One Fine Day)" and "Tun, tu piccolo iddio (You, you Beloved Little Idol)". Maurice Evans recites verses from Ogden Nash to the music of "Carnival of the Animals" by Camille Saint-Saëns with The Baird Marionettes enacting the verses. Gold and Fizdale perform "Souvenirs" which was written for them by Samuel Barber with The New York City Ballet featuring Janet Reed dancing to it.moreless
