  • Not one of the best, but till some good fun to be had here

A dirty word is spelled out on a sign in the opening skit before we get the usual good Benny’s Ballad, only with some typically funny clips added in to make it even better. Now some bloopers, with some voices going wrong, a contact lens in the wine, the house literally coming down during a song and another olden style film with the voices all wrong and the incorrect camera angles. Then Fred Scuttle is interviewed by Nicholas parsons regarding his fun boy club, and as usual we have some excellent banter between the two. Next to a Benny monologue, this time a Christmas one, and again there’s lots of excellent one liners you need to listen out for. We get a few more bloopers now, with a sign that goes wrong, a very powerful cleaning detergent that gets rid of everything and a problem with a dog. We get a sketch caled Yackanory next, a clear parody of the show Jackanory, with Benny playing a german and telling us a rude story about Goldilocks. Now Benny sings us a song about his wife’s addicton to a portable TV, and there’s some parody TV clips from Benny as well. Watch out for Benny parodying the Ladybirds. We end the show with Dickie Dido giving us a monologue, followed by a square dance song, and this was fairly decent. Overall a decent episode, not one that will live long in the memory, but the show is solid and does a good job of entertaining.moreless
