For any series, there are good characters and bad characters, and in the case of the Beverly Hillbillies, Sonny Drysdale was one of the most illogical, ridiculous and most far-fetched characters to date. I mean, how dense could this character be? A middle-aged college student, he thinks every girl wants him, so he's more than mystified when Elly doesn't fall to his "charms." The Clampetts don't understand him, Mr. Drydale understands him way too much, but Mrs. Drysdale is the worst influence by catering to his personality and indulging him. Thank god he never appeared again after the first season, although I highly suspect Soupy Sales as the nephew Lance Bradford was based on him.moreless
