His Royal Highness
AIRED:
Mrs. Drysdale invites a king to stay with the Drysdales, paying the Clampetts to stay away. Drysdale plans to set King Alexander up with Elly May and tells Jed the King is visiting them. However, nobody knows that the King is actually broke and working as a servant. Drysdale sets Elly May up with His Majesty, but Mrs. Drysdale, who does not know about the set up of Elly and Alexander, hopes to set up her niece Doreen with the King. However, Doreen mistakes Jethro, dressed in a costume from the movie studio, for the King. The King hits it off with Elly May, but Doreen doesn’t exactly enjoy Jethro’s company. King Alexander tries to get engaged to Elly, but she is not impressed and turns him down. When Doreen and Mrs. Drysdale arrive and Doreen is told Jethro isn’t the King, Alexander goes after her, learning she is worth a good amount of money.moreless

      • Doreen: What are we going to be doing tonight?
Jethro: Oh, I got some real big plans. We's gonna go frog huntin'!
Doreen: Frog hunting?! But, you're the King!
Jethro: Yeah, I am pretty good at it.

      • King Alexandar: Oh, Elly May. Look at these hands, these little hands.
Elly: They is kinda small, fer a man.

      • (Doreen meets Jethro, thinking he is the King)
Doreen: My name's Doreen. Can I be one of your friends and call you BoBo?
Jethro: Shucks, you can call me Gator Face if ya want.
Doreen: BoBo's okay. Why don't we get outta here and go for a ride?
Jethro: Alright. I see yer dressed fer it.
        Doreen: You bet!
(Doreen opens her coat to reveal her silver swim suit, and the feather on Jethro's hat rises up)

      • (Jethro sees Kind Alexandar, not what he expected)
Jehtro: Him? Gee, ya sure don't look like the king in my "Big Blue Book of Fairy Tales."

      • Jed: That's my nephew Jethro. He got that outfit from my movie studio, special for you.
        King Alexandar: Looks positively ludicrous.
Jed: Well, thank ya. He'll be pleased.
