      • (Granny and Jed are talking about Mr. Drysdale)
Granny: I suspect he was a might over-toniced. Ha.
Jed: I reckon he was. He grabbed his wife and went to huggin' and kissin' again. I was halfway home and she come runnin' after me, yellin' and screamin'.
        Granny: Scared of him?
Jed: No, she just wanted to give ya this for a refill. (hands Granny an empty bottle)

      • (Drysdale and Jane ask the Countess what happened to her chauffeur/husband Humphrey)
Countess Maria: I lost him soon after the wedding.
        Drysdale: Oh?
        Jane: What a pity.
Countess Maria: Yes. We were given a huge wedding reception, and I lost him in the crowd.

      • (Granny is complaining about how Jethro took her to a "whatnot shop," which Jethro tells her is still a drug store, though she is not convinced)
Granny: You can buy automobile tires, bedsprings, chocolate sodies, but just let a doctor walk in like I done, and ask for a simple healing drug, like bullnitter root and Wahoo bark, and they look at cha like you was some kind of a nut!

      • Jethro: Granny, found a dandy bunch of bottles for ya.
Granny: Good! Where'd ya get em?
        Jethro: At the drug store.
        Granny: Where?!
Jethro: At the dru- (Jed elbows him) At the whatnot shop.

      • (Granny tells Jethro to wash the bottles he bought)
Jethro: But Granny, these bottles is what cha call sterilized.
Granny: Don't you worry, my lye soap will kill anything.

      • Granny: I gotta get that tonic bottled or it's liable to eat right through the kettle.
