In this episode, Jethro describes Big Mouth Bradshaw as the "prettiest girl in the Hills." But in season 8, she is called the "homeliest girl in the Hills."
(Pearl is driving with Mr. Brewster)
Pearl: There's that snooty Elverna Bradshaw and her big mouth daughter settin' on they front porch! Huh, I could just hear the stories that'll start goin' around if they see me in this car here with you. Huh. (shouting) Yoo hoo! Elverna! (honks horn three times) It's me! Pearl! (to Brewster in the car) Terrible gossip, that woman, always making trouble.
Jane: Jethro, have you been upstairs yet?
Jethro: No ma'am.
Jane: Then you've got a surprise coming to you.
Jethro: What is it?!
Jane: Your suite.
Jethro: So are you.
(Jethro is telling Jed about the day he spent with Big Mouth Bradshaw, and how he learned she was fast. He tells Jed that he told her to bring out the cookies she told him her mother baked)
Jethro: Well, she just held up them cookies like this here, kinda blinked her eyes at me, and said, "Jethro, which do you think would taste sweeter, these here cookies or my lips?" Well Uncle Jed, right then and there is when I found out she was fast. I grabbed them two cookies, and it took me two miles to outrun that gal!
Jed: Jethro, some one of these days you and me's gotta have a long talk.
(Granny says that Elly used lye soap to wash with)
Jane: But that will ruins this beautiful girl's delicate skin!
Granny: I've been washin' with it fer seventy two years. Look at my skin!
Jane: Like leather.
Granny: Yeah. Nice, ain't it.
Jethro: Granny says that all the men folks gotta stay outta the house while Elly May's taking her bath.
Jane: But isn't Elly May bathing in the privacy of her own bedroom suite? (gets something out of her car)
Jed: (to Jethro) Hear what she called you? "Sweet."
Jane: What's the matter with him? Why doesn't he answer?
Jed: Well, he's just a little shy I reckon. Ask him again.
Jane: Is Elly May in her bedroom suite?
Jethro: No she ain't, darlin'.
