The Badgers Return
AIRED:
Drysdale is intent on getting the Clampetts to identify Colonel Foxhall and Emaline Fetty as dangerous criminals. Emaline is in hiding, but visits Jethro, tricking him into helping her hide from the police. The Clampetts mistake the officer that brought Foxhall as a criminal, and Foxhall gets away from the man holding him and hides in the Clampett mansion. He flirts with Granny in the kitchen to get away. Emaline, meanwhile, dresses as a city woman, changes her name, and heads down to the bank, posing as an agent. She tricks Drysdale into compromising positions, taking pictures of it, in order to blackmail him. Foxhall visits the bank to show Drysdale the pictures, threatening him to pay, just as Jed visits. He tells Drysdale and Foxhall he and Granny stopped Emaline and if they don’t behave, they’ll be sent to jail, causing Emaline and Foxhall to give up the caper.moreless

      • (Emaline is trying to keep up her act of fooling the police, saying she needs a different name)
Emaline What I need is a city name.
        Jethro: Well, how 'bout Chicago?!
Emaline: No, I mean a Christian name.
        Jethro: What about St. Louis?!
Emaline: No. I'll think of a name while I'm lookin' fer a job. Jethro!
Jethro: Oh, no, no. That's my name.
Emaline: No, no. Do you think I could pull a job, I, I mean uh, get a job at the bank? I mean, do you think Mr. Drysdale would recognize me?
Jethro Heck no! Well I didn't even recognize ya, and he ain't half as smart as me. I'll even learn ya ta cypher.
        Emaline: Oh boy.
Jethro: Oh, no, that won't work. I done made ya too purty.
        Emaline: What do ya mean?
Jethro: His wife is jealous as a cat with one kitten.
        Emaline: Really?
Jethro: Why if she saw him with you, she'd snatch him bald!
Emaline: Hmm. You just drop me off at the bank. I'll take care of things from there Jethro.
Jethro: Oh, you fetchin' along your coo-coo clock?
        Emaline: Well, it needs repairin'.
Jethro: Well, don't take it to the camera store again, ya dumb ole girl.
        Emaline: I won't.
Jethro: I'll show ya place right near the bank on Beverly Boulevard.
Emaline: Say, there's a name I could use.
        Jethro: Boulevard?
        Emaline: Beverly!
        Jethro: Oh.
        Emaline: Now all I need's a surname.
        Jethro: Galahad!

      • (The Lieutenant tries to get Jed to say Foxhall is dangerous, but Jed doesn't)
Lieutenant: Won't ya sign a complaint for me?!
Jed: No. Ya give us a little trouble, but I ain't gonna complain.

      • (Jethro says he'll come up with a way to hide Emaline from the police)

        Emmaline: Jethro?
        (Jethro wakes up)
Jethro: Huh? What? Did I think of sumthin?
Emmaline: Oh yeah, and ya talked in ya sleep too.
        Jethro: Uh, what'd I say?
Emmaline: You said, since the police is lookin' fer a dumb ole country girl, that I should sneak up the back stairs and put on one of them fancy dresses that Elly give me.
        Jethro: Yeah?
Emmaline: Yeah. And then you said you'd learn me to be a sophisticated city girl; police would never know it was me.
Jethro: Hot dog! I sure came up with a dandy didn't I!

      • (Jethro is complaining how Duke can't talk or fetch a stick)
        Emmaline: (Whispering) Jethro!
        Jethro: Duke?
Emmaline: Hey Jethro, come over here. I wanna talk to ya!
Jethro: L-listen Duke, when I said that Mr. Dyrsdale's dog could speak, uh, I didn't mean words. I meant uh woofs and barks and arf arf arf arfs. Like that.

      • (Foxhall touches Drysdale with his cane)
Drysdale: You touch me with that, and you'll receieve the thrashing of your life!
