  • One of the best from Season 2, a good combination of the usual mix-ups and the best of the Ozark clan's personalities.

The Clampetts want to participate in a party thrown by Mrs. Drysdale.

A good episode that shows that despite what the "minor" characters think, that the Clampetts are actually more fun than the thin-skinned upper crust. Of course, the usual misunderstandings predominate, Granny believes that Mrs. Drysdale has a medical problem based on poor performance of her hibiscus flowers (actually due to the noxious fumes of Granny's soap-making) and Hathaway races against time to prevent a social calamnity. But, what makes this a good installment is that after the guests endure about two minutes of tedious and boring discussions at Mrs. D's party (the "tea-sipping and poodle party") - they end up at the Clampetts "extension" affair and have the time of their lives. Even the servants are convinced and flee from the stuffy Drysdale soiree to party at the "cee-ment pond". The crowd even likes Granny's "vittles".

There's a good amount of time in this episode where the "hillbillies" reign supreme and its fun to see them revel in it.
