In the past year, Granny knew the truth about the Civil War, that the South lost and that the North won. But in this episode, Granny is back to believing what she believed in the beginning – that the South won. In this episode, she even believes that Confederate president Jefferson Davis gave the Gettysburg Address. Why did she forget again?

The Clampett account is now over one hundred million.

What happened to Jed's movie studio? When Louellen mentions getting to a movie studio, Jed says he'll take her to Mr. Drysdale. What happened to Mammoth Pictures? Jed could have taken her for a screen test at his studio and ensure she gets a good role.

Sadly, we see an even darker side of Mr. Drysdale and his rudeness when he berates Louellen and calls her names, making her cry. Had Jed caught the conversation when Mr. Drysdale called her those names, Jed would have probably taken his money out of Mr. Drysdale's bank and probably ruined a friendship in the process and could have been an instant notion for Jed and the family to get away from this man. If the Clampetts did not have their money, would Drysdale even care about them?

Granny tells Jed about a movie in which a secretary, played by Theda Bara, marries her boss without ever touching a typewriter. The movie is called Office Wife. However, Bara was never in any such movie.

Helen's car is left on the street broken into two pieces after Bonsai broke it. But if this did happen on a main street in the middle of a big city, the car would be removed. Luckily, Helen's was spared for some reason.

When Miss Jane is trying to get out of the sleeping bag and her zipper is stuck, Granny says that she will cut her out. So Granny cuts out the bottom. But if the zipper was stuck, couldn't she just slide it off? And if she couldn't, why did they cut off the bottom? If she can't get it off by sliding it off, how could she get it off by lifting it over her head?

Drysdale's office is located right above the main entrance to the bank in this episode, but in previous episodes, that is where the secretarial pool is.

In this episode, we learn exactly how mixed up Granny is about the Civil War. Throughout the series, she believes the South was victorious, winning every battle as well as the war. She also believed the North were cowards and rebels. Here we see Granny thinks that the North was fighting to defend slavery, while the South was trying to banish it. Slavery was a big part of the South's economy before the war, so who told Granny that the South was against it?

A few episodes ago, Jed didn't want anything to do with Mark Templeton because he thinks he is a coward for leaving the Navy when the Grunion are invading. However, in this episode Elly mentions that she talked to Mark on the phone about the Grunion. So the Clampetts didn't give up all contact with Mark. However, this is the last time he is mentioned on the show.

The Clampetts mistake Grunion for surfers, but they have talked about surfing before on the show. Why did they forget what surfing is and think that these surfers are Grunion who are "poor sailors?"

Goof: When Granny is looking out at the "Grunion," actually surfers, she says "Oops" before the surfers fall off the boards when she should say it after they fall.

When Drysdale shows Jed the newspaper headline about the grunion, why didn't Jed scan the article at all? He could have seen that the grunion are not "fierce, warlike creatures" but only little fish. There should have been a description of exactly what is happening.

This is the first, and only, episode where we see the basketball hoop near the pool that Jethro was playing basketball with.

Since the first few episodes, Jethro has been trying to teach Duke to fetch a stick, but Duke never did, which upset Jethro. Jed tells him it was because he liked it when Jethro did it, but he never believed him. In this episode, Jethro gets his proof, for Duke carries the stick, expecting Jethro to entertain him some more. And this was the last episode he tried it in.

In this episode, we learn that Jed and Jethro are second cousins, Pearl and Elly are second cousins, and Elly and Jethro are second cousins too.

Does Granny think the pool actually turns a person into a frog on it's own, or because of Mark? She has been thrown in the pool, and has never changed form. And does she think any water can turn Mark into a frog person, or just the pool? If he washed his hands for example, does Granny think that would affect him?

In another episode, Jethro was learning to be a frogman, and Granny thinks he is a monster. But Jethro explains what it is. Apparently, Granny forgot what a frogman was in the few years.

When Honest John is trying to prove that he and Flo are crooks, he says that they are confederates, to which Granny replies that if there were more like them, the South could rise again. But in most of the other episodes, she always says that the South won the Civil War, or as she calls it, The War Between The States or The Great War. She also says that the North have been saying they will rise again. Apparently, she has learned the truth after the nine years in Beverly Hills.
