While posing as young surfers, Jed asks Granny if she wants to go grunion hunting with him and Emma that night. However, in season 9, when the "Grunion invade," they think that they are a fierce, warlike people from the island of Grun. Why did they know what they were then, but not in the end?
This is the third time someone has mistaken the Clampetts for servants. The first person was Miss Jane in episode 2, and the second was Ginny, the sociology student.
Apparently, everyone is connected to the girl from the flower mill in Springfield, since Granny, Jane, and Dash all are connected to the Hollywood stories from the girl. Dash's aunt works at the flower mill, Jane's neighbor's cousin works at the flower mill, and Granny knows someone who has heard stories from the girl from various sources.
Granny tells Elly May that she came home at a decent hour, unlike Jed who was out dancing all night. But in the episode prior to this, she got home at three in the morning. That mostly is all night, so it isn't that much of a "decent" hour.
Mrs. Drysdale complains about taking a "common" taxi, but in an early episode, when Pearl borrows her limo, she says she will call a cab instead of having Jethro drive her. Apparently, she changed her mind on "common transportation."
Goof: Before Jed comes to visit the coffee house, the beatniks are doing the Tater Digger, and Sheldon and Squirrel are dancing together. When Jed takes Sheldon upstairs to talk, Squirrel goes back to do the Tater Digger. But the next shot shows her dancing with Sheldon again, who just left.
Why haven't the beatniks ever heard of chores? In the 1960s, they weren't a new thing. Why was this a whole new idea for them?
The Clampetts have no idea what a hobby is, but when it was possible they preceded those who came on the Mayflower, Pearl decides to get them interested in something. Did the Clampetts forget what a hobby is in a few short years?
Janet and Jane talk about Mr. Lester's car. Jane says that he bought the car in 1919, and has been making payments for 46 years, with three years left. And the car had an initial cost of $550. So, Mr. Lester has been paying off the car for a total of 49 years. To make that amount, he was and would continue to pay about $11.23 per year. Those really are easy payments.
This is the first episode where Jethro gets the idea he is actually a "sophisticated international playboy."
Granny says that she doesn't allow any menfolk around when the women are bathing. But when Edith is bathing, why can't her husband come visit her? They are married, so he could come.
When Jethro's rock for sculpting falls off the truck the first time, it knocks a few of Elly May's creation off the bench in the backyard. But when it falls off the truck the second time, and all the statues are in the front hall, nothing is affected. Why did the huge rock falling off the truck in the driveway in front make things fall all the way in the back, but not a few feet away in the house?
We learn that Granny's birthday is in the middle of November and that she is a Scorpio. We also find out that Jed's birthday is around the 1st of December and that he is a Sagittarius. Plus, Elly's birthday is October 7th, and she is a Libra.
If Jethro's office is right above the vault and next to Elly's office which is right above Mrs. Hathaway's, that would mean the vault is right next door to Mrs. Hathaway's office.
Goof: Seems that the producers and writers forgot that in episode 38,"Hair-Raising Holiday," Possum Day was mentioned for the first time and they even had a parade in downtown Beverly Hills.
Granny's campaign song is set to the tune of Camptown Races.
It is learned in this episode that the Clampetts don't know how to play football, but in one episode, Elly and Jethrene play football with a bunch of boys, and in other episodes Elly wears her ball gown and plays football with the boys as well. Did Elly forget how to play football that quickly, and considering the Clampetts knew about the game before this, did they also forget?
In this episode, we learn that Sonny Drysdale's real name is Adonis, which means "an extremely handsome young man" and was also a character in Greek mythology.
Mr. Drysdale asks Sonny what his real name is, saying he has been calling him that since he married his mother. Drysdale said in another episode that they got married at 25, and had been married for 20 years, meaning they are in their 40's, and Sonny is 37. If that is the case, Mrs. Drysdale would have to had Sonny as a child.
Mr. Drysdale's keys for the clubs are returned, including the Kitty Kat Club. But only minutes later, Jethro comes with three Kitty Kats, returning Drysdale's key. If Jane returned it before Jethro went back to the Club, how did he get the key and get back in?
