This is the first episode where Jethro mentions one of his passions as a job, as a 007 spy.
The people who come to visit Jed and Granny from the tap dancer to the fire eater, etc. seem to think that the mansion is a talent agency.
Why didn't Jethro try to complete his education? He believes he is such a scholar, so why doesn't he try to further his brain?
When Granny drove across the lawn, it didn't make a mark in the grass, but when the cop did the same, the bike left a mark. Why did Granny drive clear, but not the cop?
Mel Blanc is best known as the voice of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Barney Rubble and a host of other characters.
In this episode, Granny does not know what the Taxi cab driver is, but in the episode The Clampetts Go Fishing, she mentions how Drysdale said the fish was prepared by a taxi cab driver, and how he should stick to driving taxis.
The penthouse where the Clampetts have Clampco Inc. is also where Jethro set up his talent agency and where the Clampetts started their enterprises in the later seasons.
CRAWDAD, according to Fleming and Lucas:
When Jed and Granny see Elly May come down the stairs in her Gibson girl dress, Granny says that that is her sixty years ago. So at the turn of the century, Granny would have been around Elly's age, late teens/early twenties. Meaning Granny would have been born the 1880s and would now be in her seventies or eighties.
In the picture Mrs. Drysdale is planning to have taken, one shot is of the Native Americans giving the Thanksgiving turkey to the Pilgrims. Some claim there was no turkey at the first Thanksgiving; however, in William Bradford's first-hand narrative Of Plymouth Plantation, he says of the first Thanksgiving that "...there was a great store of wild turkeys, of which they took many, besides venison, etc."
Elly has a strong love for animals, as she shows in her episode especially this one by trying to save the Thanksgiving turkey. So, why does she still eat meat? She befriends most of the animal types which she eats.
This is the first episode the tragic beauty Sharon Tate appears on.
When Wilkins mentioned Armstrong eating possum pie, Drysdale responds "delicious." But in episodes that follow, Drysdale isn't a fan of the Clampetts' food.
In this episode, Elly talks to the pool man. However, in some episodes in the next season, they think the man working on the pool is poisoning it.
Dr. Twombly's office is actually a re-dress of Mr. Drysdale's office.
Elverna Bradshaw must have two daughters because Pearl said that the man who was supposed to marry Jethrine ended up marrying Elverna's daughter. But in season 8, "Bigmouth" Bradshaw gets married to Robert Holloway.
Gloria Buckles is also the name of the secretary who would date and marry Shorty Kellems in season 8.
When Mrs. Drysdale realizes she let Pearl take her limo, she says she will call a cab. But in a later episode, she was forced to take a "common" cab and wasn't happy about it. Why is it okay now, but not later on?
If Mrs. Smith Standish was so exicited about all the old fashioned chores, why didn't she do the things Mrs. Drysdale did? Mrs. Smith Standish did a handfull of the activities, while Mrs. Drysdale was tortured doing them all.
Pearl tells Jed that maybe Elly ought to have a coming out party, describing what it is. But in the episode Elly Comes Out, they have never heard of this so-called "coming out party." Did Jed forget what Pearl told him?
