Episode Summary

Elly May makes a pet out of the Thanksgiving turkey Drysdale gives the family, making it impossible for "Herman" to be killed. And to celebrate in her own way, Mrs. Drysdale organizes a picture to represent the first Thanksgiving. Of course, she has no idea that the two Native Americans are actors. When they head to the Clampetts mansion to get the turkey for the picture, Elly and Granny think they are being attacked. But in the end, all is resolved, and the Clampetts, the Drysdales, Miss Jane, and the two actors end up having a great Thanksgiving dinner without the turkey.moreless

      • In the picture Mrs. Drysdale is planning to have taken, one shot is of the Native Americans giving the Thanksgiving turkey to the Pilgrims. Some claim there was no turkey at the first Thanksgiving; however, in William Bradford's first-hand narrative Of Plymouth Plantation, he says of the first Thanksgiving that "...there was a great store of wild turkeys, of which they took many, besides venison, etc." Edit
      • Elly has a strong love for animals, as she shows in her episode especially this one by trying to save the Thanksgiving turkey. So, why does she still eat meat? She befriends most of the animal types which she eats. Edit
