    1.

I think they can "calm down" about Sheldon's neurotic behavior

As I recall, (FOR ME PERSONALLY), I believe it was season 2

it started to become a "turn off" and thru out the series, it

has some times been a delightful "quirk" and then other times,

such a hyperbole it takes away from general enjoyment of the show...

    Any one agree/disagree ??

(I mean it is meant for humor/comical breaks from the bigger storyline)

but gets to the POINT of "C'mon" NO ONE is this impossible. and if they are,

they wouldn't have 3 GREAT friends...to put up w/ that crap every day

    -

    Also,

    2nd. observation:

Doesn't like it, when they tease up Sheldon (on a CBS promo) thru out the week

as Breaking Character ( ie: Star Trek, Lame) / and a few others...

to tune in and watch the show, and to find out it is a quick one second bit w/out

    any substance... kinda sucks..

I like Sheldon the way he is, the only problem I've had as the series has progressed is that they've made Sheldon regress, as in, he acts a lot more childish than he used to earlier in the show, and this is played for laughs when it is just sad most of the time. But as for him being a self-important condescending hypocrite, well that's how I like him. It terms of his friends, I've only ever seen Leonard as being a real friend to Sheldon, Howard often expresses his hatred for Sheldon, and Raj and Sheldon rarely interact just the two of them.

As for the second obversation, networks will pull this trick until the end of time. They need something to make sure viewers tune in, even if it is three seconds of Sheldon 'breaking character'.

It's every show this happens to. Sheldon's quirks (like all characters' idiosyncracies) have diminishing returns over time; to get the same laughs from the majority of the audience he has to exhibit his quirks more often and/or have them be more pronounced.

Remember when Jack on Will & Grace used his high-pitched squeaky voice and Karen made a drug joke once every few weeks? By season five it was every scene. Same with Carrie and Doug on King of Queens; he got more buffoonish as time went on and she got more harpy-like. It's just the nature of sitcoms for this to happen.

yes, you do get people this neurotic, and although Leonard is the most loyal howard and Raj have said they missed him after spending one night without him (the toast derivation) if you've been friends with someone for more than eight years i think youre able to tune out their annoying idiosyncracies.

sheldon is predictable in some cases which imo ruins the fun aspect... for example the closure episode. about alphas ending..

I saw it coming the moment amy started her ' reprogramme regime'...

but sheldon in this latest season has been racist, sexist and offensive to alot of people... pretty hard to watch that, it's funny for like a few seconds untill the gag is repeated... the writers imo showed VERY poor JUDGEMENT..

ignorance is no excuse..even for a fictional character..

Sheldon used to be an antisocial genius, now he is a stupid and naive weirdo

Like Raj, who became a woman

I agree with your assessment of Raj.

It's as if they are going to make him bisexual. There isn't anything wrong if they decide to do that, but for crying-out-loud, either fish or cut bait. As to Sheldon becoming a stupid and naive weirdo, don't forget that Amy has thrown a wrench into his tidy world.

Sheldon has always had a child-like personality and now his lifelong habits and outlooks are being challenged by Amy. It's no wonder he's confused. What man understands women under the best of circumstances? None!!Laughing

Sheldon has really regressed over the course of the series. There's a scene in the pilot episode where Leonard and Sheldon meet Penny and things get awkward, and it's SHELDON that points out what Leonard shouldn't have said. Today's Sheldon wouldn't have done that. Instead, the situation would've been reversed.

The Sheldon we see in the last eps?
If so, they go see a doctor, because the Sheldon we have for the last eps is clearly not a normal human being

    yes Romano sheldon is stupid.

and yes, the term retard is medical

but also degrading to use as stupid or slang...

it is slightly different than someone saying

    what a " pollock"

I love sheldon! It might just be the fact he has the same mind set and acts a lot like I have before. His quirks are what makes him fun to watch
