  • Trivia

    • Sheldon states that his expenses account for approximately 42% of his after-tax wage. Yet, in the season one episode "The Dumpling Paradox", when Leonard and Sheldon are discussing letting Penny stay in their apartment, Sheldon says "Frankly, if I could afford the rent I'd ask you to leave.". If his expenses only come to less than half of his take home pay he would in actuality be able to pay all of the rent on his own.

    • Although Sheldon seems to believe he knows everything, he was incorrect about Icees and Slurpees not being equivalent. 7-Eleven licenses the product and simply sells it under the Slurpee name.

    • When Penny was asking Sheldon to give her more time to pay him back, Sheldon was holding a closed box of Chinese food in his left hand and a chopstick in the middle with his right hand. After Leonard said "Oh wait, you lent her money?", Sheldon was holding an open box of Chinese food and holding the chopsticks by the top end of it.

  • Quotes

    • Penny: Sheldon, honey, I don't want things to be weird between us.
Sheldon: Well, would it also be weird if I have to say 'hello' to you every morning on my way to work and you're living in a refrigerator box and washing your hair with rainwater?

    • Sheldon: You know, I've given the matter some thought... and... I think I'd be willing to be a house pet to a race of super intelligent aliens.

    • Sheldon: If you recall, I pointed out the 'Check Engine' light to you several months ago.
Penny: No, the 'Check Engine' light is fine; it's still blinking away. It's the stupid engine that stopped working.

    • (outside Kurt's apartment)
Leonard: Okay, is everyone clear on the plan?
Wolowitz: Yes, Koothrappali is going to wet himself, I'm going to throw up, Sheldon is going to run away, and you are going to die!

    • Sheldon: Hello, Penny.
Penny: Sheldon, here is your money. Thank you very much. It helped a lot.
      Sheldon: Sarcasm?
      Penny: No.
Sheldon: Darn! I can't seem to get the hang of that.

    • Leonard: Why don't you just get a roommate and stay here?
Penny: Well, do you know anybody?
Leonard: Well, I'm sure the guy living with Sheldon wouldn't mind moving in with you.
Penny: Oh, Leonard, honey, if we started living together, I wouldn't be able to keep my hands off you.
      Leonard: Really?
Penny: And you thought my acting lessons were a waste of money.

    • Penny: This wasn't the plan. It wasn't supposed to go this way.
Leonard: Oh, well what was the plan?
Penny: Um, waitress for six months, then become a movie star.
      Leonard: Uh-huh. Was there a plan B?
      Penny: TV star.

    • Sheldon: Ask me why!
      Leonard: Do I have to?
Sheldon: Of course, that's how you move a conversation forward.

    • Sheldon: On what universe is a slurpee the same thing as an ICEE.
