I'm sorry, but this episode really did not do it for me. A lot of it was reliant on us simply thinking that Sheldon's mother involving herself with the other individuals equaled laughs, and I really did not buy into that. That was the premise, scenes of Sheldon's mama causing havoc and to me not only is it shoddy writing, but more importantly, it really is not funny. Sorry, Bang, but this was not one of your better showings.moreless
  • After last weeks episode it this episode was a step back but still a great episode.

    9.5
Last weeks episode washilariousand this weeks was funny but still it was one of the best episode it was really good to see Sheldon's mom again and this time she didn't want to spend much time with her son but instead she spent time with his friends so Sheldon wasjealousand was acting strange around her and his friends and that so good entertainment seeing Sheldon suffer once in a while. Looking forward for next weeks episode CBS is really doing a good job in the comedy side this season and each show is getting funnier by the episode.moreless
  • Sheldon was a little irritating in this episode but not as irritating as last week's episode

    9.5
I thought that this was an excellent episode of "The Big Bang Theory". My score was only a little low because Sheldon was a little irritating in this episode. Other than that, this episode was just pure hilarious and very enjoyable. I really though Sheldon's mom was very funny when she was listening to Raj's women trouble, helping Penny find the appropriate clothes, and helping Howard. It was very funny when the gang was at church... that scene might a little offensive to some people though. Sheldon talking to that man sitting next to him and it rained was pretty funny. There were tons and tons more funny parts in this episode as well. Sheldon's mom saying that she got Sheldon checked when he was a kid was very funny. It was funny when Sheldon got his mother's attention by coming in the apartment wet and then his mom wants to check his head. Sheldon sticking his tongue at the gang was also hilarious. I also thought that the ending was very cute when Sheldon's mom was singing a song to make him fall asleep. In a way, I can kinda relate to Sheldon because I know that even though I'll be an adult... I want my mommy by my side and giving me attention except I don't attempt to get attention. My mom gives me and my brother 100% love and attention. Overall, an excellent episode of "The Big Bang Theory". 9.5/10moreless
  • I liked this one better than last week's.

    9.0
This episode focused more on the quirkiness of the characters, the colorfulness of genius personalities, which is what I love about the show and what makes it different. Laurie Metcalfe is priceless as Sheldon's mother, and her down-to-earth strength is a perfect foil for her son's big-headed neurosis.

However, I still feel that Penny is being underutilized, and I still miss the fun of her friendship with the brilliant nerds across the hall that highlighted how differently they viewed the world. And I still miss all the geeky science that made the show so much fun, from dancing cornstarch on speakers to bouncing a laser off the moon.

I hope the show veers back towards what made it so special.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Goof: Sheldon tells his mother that his chest hair "just filled out last year", but in Season 1's "The Pancake Batter Anomaly", he tells Penny to rub the Vick's VapoRub counterclockwise "or else my chest hair mattes".

  • QUOTES (1)

    • Mary: You think maybe the reason why you're having trouble finding a guy to settle down with is because you're letting 'em ride the roller coaster without buying a ticket?
Penny: Oh they don't always get to ride the roller coaster; sometimes they only get to spin the teacups.
