I mentioned in the review for last week's episode that it felt as if "The Big C" was finally becoming the show it was meant to be.. and I stand by that claim. This week's episode was better than a lot of the episodes we've had this season and is a reminder to me that the show is good.

Lately, I've been rather bored of the show.. the first few episodes were fantastic, but it quickly descended into a realm of laziness, something that felt sub-par when compared to the rest of Showtime's shows. However, the show is perking up just in time for the finale, and I'm glad. In this episode, Paul grows extremely worried for Cathy and tries to get her to look at alternate forms of medicine if she doesn't want to do chemo. As a result, she has a coffee enema (exactly what it sounds like) and plans on seeing a bee sting therapist (also exactly what it sounds like).

Adam meets a girl that he begins talking to, so I assume she'll become important in these final few episodes, while Cathy joins Marlene and Rebecca at a strip club. Near the end of the episode, we learn that Cathy will likely be going to Canada for a bee sting therapy session and that Marlene's Alzheimer's disease is getting worse. This is unfortunate, since Marlene is one of my more favorite characters on the show. And as much as I like Sean, I'm glad he was in this episode less. He has an intense personality that is sometimes good in small doses.

Right now, the show is finally moving at a pretty rapid pace and with more and more people learning about Cathy's cancer, things are much more interesting. With Liam Neeson in next week's episode, I'm pretty excited.moreless
