Two years prior to this episode airing, NBC's sketch comedy series, Saturday Night Live, aired an episode on February 23, 2008, which first featured a sketch similar to the "Feminique" ad sketch featured in this episode. In the SNL ad, the product was called "Annuale," and allowed women to have their periods only once a year with hilarious side-effects.
Both sketches were based on a real-life product called, "Seasonale," which allows women to have their period every three months (only 4 times a year), instead of monthly.
Hotel Receptionist: And how many guests will you be tonight?
Mr. Robinson: Two. Just me and my husband.
Receptionist: Great. Just you and your friend.
Husband: Uh, excuse me, I... I'm not his friend.
Receptionist: Of course.
Husband: Okay.
Receptionist: Okay. And would you like one bed or two for you and your business associate?
Mr. Robinson: One. We're not business associates.
Receptinist: Okay, my mistake. And would you like to put the room on your card or that of your doubles partner?
Husband: Okay, use my card. And I'm not his doubles partner, I'm his husband.
Receptionist: Indubitably. And would you be needing an extra room key for your wingman?
Mr. Robinson: Husband.
Receptionist: Sous chef.
Mr. Robinson: Husband.
Receptionist: Side car.
Mr. Robinson: Yes.
Receptionist: Okay, and just sign here to grant minibar access to your co-pilot.
Husband: Husband.
Receptionist: Magician's assistant.
Husband: Husband.
Receptionist: Dermatologist.
Husband: That one doesn't even make sense.
Feminique Spokeswoman: I celebrate being a woman, a natural woman. But I don't need to deal with the inconvenience of my period every single month, or every six months, or even every year. You see, my doctor prescribed "Feminique." And now I get my period once a decade, just as nature intended.
That means over the next 10 years, instead of 120 periods, I get one. I'm not entirely sure why my doctor said that was a good idea, but he wears a white coat, he seems smart, so I'm sure I should take it. I mean, I am woman and what could be more feminine than 119 fewer periods.
There have been reports of some minor side effects. They include dry mouth, blurred vision and that's all. Oh, that's right, and vaginal disappearance and deformation, massive vaginal infection, vaginal discoloration and death. And, although reported, not everyone gets a heart attack. And, really, that's nothing I like to think about.
Announcer: Then, in the season finale, a lavish night of knitting and staring is interrupted when 12-year-old Anna goes head-to-head with her own father. Will Warren get cold feet before marrying his own daughter?
Warren Jeffs: Probably not.
Announcer: So get ready for the new season of The Real Housewives of Warren Jeffs.
Anna: Wednesdays nights on Bravo are about to give a whole new meaning to Father of the Bride.
RuPaul: Welcome to the main stage. Queens, tonight your challenge is to be as close as possible to an episode of America's Next Top Model without being sued for plagiarism.
RuPaul: The winner of RuPaul's Drag Race will be featured in a photo spread in Pennysaver magazine, a headline spot on the American Pride Tour, and a grand cash prize of 20,000... pesos.
