The Big Red Chicken is an episode of the popular animated children's series "Dora the Explorer." In this episode, Dora (voiced by Kathleen Herles) and her simian friend Boots (Harrison Chad) read a story called "The Legend of the Big Red Chicken." Afterwards, Boots wants to go see the chicken in the story, so he and Dora travel to the Big Red Hill. According to the story, this is where the chicken lives. However, Dora and Boots can't seem to find him! They search high and low, and eventually locate the Big Red Chicken, who turns out to be much bigger than they had ever imagined! Episodes of Dora the Explorer are very popular among young children. The program teaches basic skills such as counting and simple math, and helps children learn English and Spanish vocabulary words.
