The Big Schmooze

Show Summary

The Big Schmooze is a weekday morning comedy talk-show from Australia that mixes stand-up comedy, celebrity interviews and sketches in one-hour segments. Comedians Matthew Hardy and Kate Langbroek host the morning show, starting their season with Australian soap actress, Pia Miranda, as their first guest. Audiences get their good look at the show's three idiots, Ray Matsen, Paul Calleja and Mark O'Toole, who play practical jokes on the guests and crew throughout the season. By the second episode, funnyman Dave O'Neil joins Matt and Kate as the quirky and always wrong weatherman. International stars soon frequent the show's guest list, as they pass through Australia promoting their films. Actor John Travolta gives Kate a dance lesson and comedian Chris Rock stops by to promote his film Nurse Betty. The show's musical guest list includes Sinead O' Conner, Pink, Three Doors Down and 'N Sync. Every episode adds at least ten minutes of original stand-up comedy from international and local comedians.
