    • Trivia

      ADD TRIVIA
      • Three things about this episode seem questionable. (1) At Heath's "trial," he's told he'll be punished for shooting a man 5 years ago, yet there's no explanation as to how his captors know he was the shooter, nor any explanation as to why they waited 5 years to "arrest" him. (2) Though the sect members seem to be camped in the area of the Barkley ranch, those men from the ranch searching for Heath don't check on the camp. (3) When Heath is cut free from the whipping post after his flogging, not a drop of blood can be seen on his back. Edit
      • Lee Majors' "Heath Barkley" character had already been flogged in the 9-16-66 episode and the 11-28-66 episode, so his back must bear the scars of past whippings, yet the man who flogs him in this episode makes no mention of this. Had the scars somehow disappeared? Edit
    • Notes

      ADD NOTES
      • Lee Majors' third "Big Valley" whipping occurred in this episode. (The first came on 9-19-66 in "Legend of a General Part 1" and the second in "The Iron Box" on 11-28-66.) Unlike the first time, this whipping is shown rather than implied, and unlike the second time, Majors' shirt is removed in order to receive his punishment. Edit

      • Hemit: (after supervising Heath's whipping) I hope by now that you have learned the hopelessness of trying to escape, for the next time your punishment will not be so simple.
