      • Lee Majors, as Heath Barkley, received three separate whippings during a 15-month period on "The Big Valley." The first occurs here, though it's implied rather than shown. At the end of the episode, (the first of a two-part story), Heath stands pressed face-first against the wall of a Mexican jail, stripped of his shirt and with arms outstretched. In the middle of his bare back appears the shadow of a hand holding a coiled-up whip -- indicating that Heath is about to be lashed. The next episode concludes this two-part story, but while it's assumed that Heath has been flogged in the interim, the flogging is not shown in the second episode nor is it specifically referred to in the dialog. Heath's next whipping occured on the 11-28-66 episode titled "The Iron Box" followed by yet another whipping in the 12-18-67 episode called "Journey into Violence." Edit
