However, in the episode when the contestants went on a cruise, and the challenge was to find a family member on the ship and have them sign the room service slip, Marty's family member was his WIFE. What happened to his marriage that allowed him to start dating Amy and want to marry her? Did she die? Did they get a divorce? We never find out.
