The Lines children are played by the real-life children of Kevin Lloyd, who plays D.C. Lines. Oldest child James would join the cast as P.C. Steve Hunter fifteen years later.
The character played by Natasha Williams (the typist who is telling Tosh off) is listed in the credits as "Delia France". When she returns to Sun Hill as a WPC, the character is named "Delia French".
The same radio sound effect is in a number of scenes in this episode. Listen out for the radio chatter that includes the phrase "Victor 1-1". This single sound effect features over the theme tune in the 1998 version of the opening credits and in many later episodes, notably in ambulance and CAD scenes, and including the P.C. Vicky Hagen departure storyline from 2001.
This episode was released on videotape in an edited omnibus format (with Pickup) by Thames Video/Video Collection International as part of The Bill Volume 2 in 1990. It was later released in unedited format by Clear Vision as part of The Roach Files on 11 August 1997.
Final appearance of P.C. Pete Ramsey (Nick Reding).
