    • TRIVIA (4)

      • This piece of "event" television was intended to mark 20 years of The Bill, although the show had actually been running for just 19 years!

      • We find out in this episode that DC Mickey Webb (Chris Simmons) has transferred to the Murder Investigation Team (MIT).

      • Insp Gold and Sgt Murphy get out of the police car, shut the doors and chat before going in to the station. During their chat, it is clear that the windscreen wipers are still going… A police car with a flat battery will be of no use in the next episode!

      • Sgt June Ackland and PC Jim Carver reminisce about their former colleagues, including PC "Taffy" Morgan. Their colleague of over five years was actually "Taffy" Edwards, but he had been named Morgan in the pilot episode, Woodentop. That episode was broadcast immediately after the live episode, on sister channel ITV2, and the reversion to the original name was doubtless done to avoid confusion for viewers.
