a fantastic episode, probably the best this year and so well written, i loved it. I thought it was funny and the way they dealt with race, ie rogers racism was really refreshing. Things are really looking up at the bill. I look forward to more Emma, Lewis storylines. great. A very exciting episode indeed. suspense, drama and a great deal of funny one liners. I haven't watched the bill for awhile, but after this episode i will be back on board.moreless
  • Yet another strong episode!!! This new fashion seems to be holding.

    9.5
It seems as though The Bill is finally getting into the realms of serious dramatic writing. Maybe they have some new scripters on their team, or a new coffee brand, whatever the change is, it's certainly a good one!

Who would have thought that the missing 7-year-old would last even longer? Certainly not me! This seems, however, to be a realistic example of something tragic that happens in real life, and well written too. So many leads that have been investigated that are ultimately null, so unlike the Bill but so much for the better!

And, running along side the above story-line, we have the continuous plot of gang warfare on the estates. This is the kind of story-line that The Bill have tried in the past, normally failing to make it entertaining/intelligent or just plain good. However, this attempt certainly seems to be holding up! Backed with a strong plot, great characters and even little bits such as Roger's possible racism, or not, this really is going well for The Bill!

Of course, this episode also marked Ramani DeCosta's exit from the station (pemanent? We do not yet know) and built it up perfectly - we had a lot of...not quite sexual tension, but emotional indeed, from Ramani and Terry which never managed the happy Hollywood ending we want so much. The actor who plays Mickey Webb was absolutely perfect in playing the annoying tease who has pinned the situation just right, though he doesn't even know it! And Susie's look just said it all. Also nice to see Ramani wearing the new necklace! Little details like that are noticed by the audience, and the writers too it seems.

The gym teacher was an interesting sub-plot, and it's good there was a positive outcome. However, we did have the camera in a grid in a changing room not too long ago concerning Ramani's step-daughter's instructor...Also, if a suspected child-abductor is under surveillance it seems a little stupid for it to be by the two officers he has previously had contact with! Though I understand that was just a creative stretch to award Terry and Ramani certain situations and chances of dialogue.

All in all, another great episode. It can only now get better! (Hopefully!)moreless
