  • Lennox investigates a friend's indiscretion causing friction with Webb and Holmes

    8.5
Another good episode featuring the cuddly Scottish detective, this time helping out an old friend who slept with a mystery man and is being blackmailed.

Webb and Holmes provide able support, unlike Lennox who nearly ruins their surveillance of a drugs deal that Webb has been working on for weeks.

Lennox spends most of the episode trying to dodge questions from the team and in trying to help both his friends in their predicament (the wife and her husband who was being blackmailed with her photos) and ultimately damages the friendship with them as they are unhappy that he knew they were both asbad as each other but didn't tell them.

The main story wraps up nicely within the hour, however two plot threads are left open - the identity of the man with the griffin tattoo is never revealed and Webb doesn't catch the drugs supplier after Lennox turns up late.

All in all, a decent episode worth repeated viewings.moreless

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • Bad Editing: In CID, when Lennox is trying to get out of Webb's obbo, in one shot he is rubbing his forehead and in the next shot his hand is suddenly at his side.

A similar thing happens in the pub scene between Lennox and Ian McCluskey — there are two instances where in one shot Lennox is looking towards McCluskey and in the next he is suddenly looking away in a different direction.

    • Towards the end of the episode, Webb and Hagen are handling evidence in the Raeburn's office without any gloves therefore contaminating it.

  • QUOTES (1)

    • D.C.I. Meadows: Apparently with any reasonable luck we should be able to throw the book at the Raeburns.
D.C. Lennox: Half the library with any luck!
