Mobsters is a documentary TV series developed by the Biography Channel that puts the spotlight on some of history's most infamous gangsters and all that went on during their reigns. Learn about just what made these mobsters the head of the roost, including the deviousness of the Irish punks the Westies, the former foot-soldier turned gang boss Tony Accardo, and even the Mafia Don, Santo Trafficante, a suspect in the assassination of J.F.K. While known for their crimes, some mobsters are known for their downright eerie ability to manipulate those around them. Like James "Whitey" Bulger. One of the most legendary Boston gangsters for more than twenty years, his machinations and elusiveness led to FBI's "Deal with the Devil", an informant ring that had kept him free and clear of jail time. Frank Nitti had been merely an enforcer until Al Capone was sent away for tax evasion. With Capone gone, Nitti became an expander, eventually pushing the influence of the Mob into the labor field and even Hollywood studios. Mobsters were an influential part of American culture and the Biography Channel does all it can to share the impact of these few well-known men.
