Lindsay Wagner is amazing playing both her regular character, Jaime Sommers, and her doppleganger, Lisa Galloway. Her scenery chewing meltdown in her padded cell won her a well deserved Emmy Award in 1978 - a history setting first award ever won by an actress in a sci-fi series. (I haven't been able to find anything in the Emmy archives to indicate if anyone else has won for a sci-fi series since). Initially a very difficult episode for me to watch again, it has now become my favourite. This is really edge-of-your-seat stuff. And those dreaded words that everyone hates to see in any TV episode - "To Be Continued" - come at such an exciting moment, I just about screamed again when I saw them. Definitely worth watching again and again.moreless

  • TRIVIA (5)

    • Blooper: In the padded cell, Jaime lands on a drainage grate as she attempts a bionic jump. It breaks in two perfect halves but is shown intact in her hand a moment later.

    • This episode suggests that Jaime's bionic arm has fingerprints, when she urges Warden Cooper to take her fingerprints to prove she is not Lisa.

    • Blooper: The drainage cover that Jaime breaks in the prison strongroom has no drain hole beneath.

    • Blooper: the courtyard that Jaime runs across to escape the prison looks more like a construction yard than a prison courtyard. Trucks, construction works and forklifts can be seen.

    • Two men show up at Jaime's place (a second-story apartment in a 2000 sq ft. structure) and use two small cannisters of gas to force her into unconsciousness. Problems: The cannisters are too small to fill that large a space (especially when she's on the second floor), and the crooks make no attempt to shield themselves from the gas when they enter to kidnap her (no masks, no hands over faces, nothing).

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Rudy: (explaining his Adrenalizine test rat) Plato here is the product of an accidental drug discovery I made four months ago. I call it Adrenalizine.
      Lisa: Adrenalizine?
Rudy: It's a plastic compound. It works about the same as our own adrenaline.

    • Prison Guard: (helping switch Jaime with Lisa, and has just put Jaime in Lisa's cell) Welcome to the penitentiary - Jaime.

  • NOTES (1)

    • Lindsay was the first woman to win an Emmy in the category of "Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series" for a Science-Fiction related show on September 12, 1977, for her work on the "Deadly Ringer" episodes.
