Bob's mother's name was Eleanor in this episode. In later episodes, Bob's mother's name is Martha and his sister's name is Ellen (similar to Eleanor).
Notice how the steps to the Hartley's front door have changed from three to two.
The closing credits for this episode were taken from the original pilot. The picture credit for Peter Bonerz was not part of this episode. Also, the shot of Bob's office in closing scene #2 was of the original set from the unaired pilot.
Goof: In the scene where Bob and Cynthia meet, just about the time Cynthia leaves the room, what appears to be a coat rack with a coat hanging on it moves into the shot on the right side of the screen, even though the camera does not move.
A waitress is listed in the closing credits, but no waitress appears in the episode.
At the start of this episode, Howard and Carol don't seem to know each other. However, in an earlier episode, "Anything Happen While I Was Gone?", both attended a party to watch slides of Bob and Emily's Mexican vaction. Howard even hit on Carol at the party.
This episode was obviously filmed back at the beginning of the series. Notice how the steps to the front door have changed back to three from two. Also, Emily and Carol have their old hair styles.
Howard said he was never in Bob's office before. He was in Bob's office in episode one, Fly the Unfriendly Skies.
Jerry slept on the couch in the living room. In episode #6, Carol slept on the sofa-bed in the den.
Emily said that the guest bathroom is only a 1/2 bath. In episode #12, everone goes into the guest bathroom when Howard and Carol have a fight, and the bathroom has a bathtub.
Early on the episode, Jerry admits that he failed to get tickets for the sold out Bears-Packers game, then suggests driving all the way to Peoria to watch the game. Granted, it was not uncommon to black out football games back in the 70's and 80's, but if it's Bears-Packers, it's being played in Chicago, and the game is sold out, why in the heck would it be blacked out? If you live in Chicago like I do, that would not make sense at all.
In act one, scene three the Hartley's apartment has the old carpeting.
In this episode we learn that Mr. Carlin was Bob's first patient and that Michelle has been a patient since she graduated from high school.
You will notice in this episode that Bob's office number changes from 715 to 751.
Inconsistency: If Emily had spent the day "cooking, cleaning and waiting for her husband to come home" as she states in the opening scene, wouldn't she have noticed something going on across the hall as the burglars cleaned out Howard's apartment?
Blooper: When Bob's office is first shown in this episode, the office number is 715, but all other times in the episode, the office number is 751.
Early in the dinner party scene, the shadow of a person is seen moving across the couch, but no one in the scene is on that side of the room.
We learn that Carol lives at 2601 Grace Ave. Apt. 2J.
Phil's excuse for sneezing during Jerry's serves in last year's tournament is that he has hay fever. Jerry says they play on an indoor court. Assuming they are playing in the same place this year, Carol shouldn't have to worry about getting a sunburn indoors.
Carol says that growing up she was "tall and thin and red-haired." But in other episodes she has said she used to be very overweight.
