I do not live in America and years ago when Janet Jackson exposed a breast for 1 second the radical christians in the USA were up in arms and fines against the TV network were metered out. It was a real laugh for the rest of the word who see nothing unpleasant about breasts.
Anyway it showed how free speech did not exist in America at least on network television.
Just looking at this show it seems the opposite. There is a priest who is hooked on prescription drugs and can say god damn on the show with no bleeps, a 15 year old girl has sex in a car, (what is traditionally known as child porn), another minor is a dope seller who also makes manga porno of gay guys (one being the priest's son) and other cartoons of her mother dressed for S&M. On top of all this the priest has conversations with a jesus guy who looks like a 1960s hippie after he is at a hospital while they do euthanasia.
I download shows and actually skipped quite a bit of the show as would rater watch the West Wing... but they did throw in a scene with the priest and his wife just after an orgasm and mentioning a boob job for someone -- then goes back to the 15 year old in a car again.
The family also has a black woman servant (maid) who also smoke dope, and of course lets not forget that there are also ties to the mafia with a Italian priest friend.
This could of all been in fun like Weeds or better example - Desperate Housewives, but this series has no real humor. IT is not a drama or a sit-com - in fact has no category but the sure tried to put everything into the script. By doing so the failed.
Each can judge but just strange that a Jackson boob causes outrage but a stupid show like this is fine for the network.
It does not at all offend me except for it lack of quality. The show Rome would never be allowed on network TV do to some nudity yet its writing and acting were fantastic..heck even Dead Wood is very good, but this show just has no quality.
Just do not understand whey the cristian radials have not complained as it shows what a mess the faith is in reality.
