  • The greatest thing since sliced bread! Thank you Showtime!

Everything about this episode equates to greatness, whether it's from the tension that the audience feels as King Charles looks slowly upon the fake canons and Cesare attempting to prove that Rome truly is an eternal city to the pure hatred one feels when he/she looks at Juan Borgia and his deceit. This episode combined the art of dialogue with the breathtaking set design that is only fitting of a pope and his familia. For example, the compilation between Lucrezia singing to her sleeping Giovanni to Juan's imminent fate being placed upon the screen is pure mastery! The killing scenes are nothing in comparison to Spartacus nor Game of Thrones, yet they serve the same purpose, in the sense that your breathing slows and you fear what comes next. This has been my favorite show since its first season last year and it continues to remain above all else. If you love well thought out characterization, manipulation (both psychological and physical), deceit, lust, and history, you will love this show! Similarly, everyone should know that this episode must give shoutouts to the fair Lucrezia, Cesare, Borgia, and a big fan-favorite, King Charles of France. :]moreless
