  • What? You kidnapped my sons and held them at spearpoint? Sure, I'll help make you famous!

Part 3 of the Hawaii Trilogy that opened the 4th Season. Vincent Price makes an appearance as creepy, eccentric Dr. Whitehead, a rogue archeologist who has forsaken the academic world because "someone else always gets the credit" for his discoveries. He kidnaps the Brady boys, who have stumbled upon his lair to return a "taboo" Hawaiian idol so that their run of bad luck will end. When Mike and Carol finally arrive to save the boys, Mike's reaction is really weird. Instead of calling the cops on Whitehead, he offers assistance in documenting his discoveries and even invites the demented man to a luau! Gee, that Mike Brady sure is one understanding, forgiving type of guy.moreless
  • An Odd End to a Good Vacation

The first two episodes of the Hawaii trilogy were great. There were a lot of funny moments in those, but this one fell a little short. It seemed like they were just rushing to end the episode in the last ten minutes. The majority of this episode involves the boys being trapped in the burial ground trying to get rid of the ancient island tabu. Here's where it gets to be just silly, instead of funny. The boys are tied up by this crazy archaeologist. They are seriously going to stand their one by one waiting to be tied up? They're all fit and I'm sure they could take over the old man or simply run away. A little weird, but I'll look past that. After the girls finally tell Mike and Carol where the boys really went, the parents come in and save the day. And what does Mike do? Why, he invites this crazy man to join the Brady's at a luau. Again, a little weird, but hey, all the problems are solved and it's the end to another Brady vacation.moreless
  • Greg, Peter, and Bobby get hold hostage by a crazed archaeologist.

So Greg, Peter, and Bobby go to the old burial ground to return the object they now know is the Tabu. They, and even me, myself, wish there was a better way to get rid of the horrible old thing. Especially a way that didn't include crazy archaeologists holding you hostage. Oh yeah, ways that include those kind of things can really be bad. WAY bad.

So I think the archaeologist thinks they are trying to steal the Tabu, or that he is freaked out and he wants to know how they got possession of it. Obviously, he doesn't believe them until the girls finally tell Mike and Carol what happened, and they all hop onto a bus to the burial grounds, and save the boys. Then they explain to the archaeologist what happened, and he appologizes for the trouble.

It seems like the Bradys can never find their ways out of trouble, lol.moreless

    • Whitehead: (When the Brady parents discover him) All I ever wanted was a place of my own in the academic world, and now I've sunk to crime. I'm an archaeological dropout.
Mike: Professor, you didn't really think you'd get away with stealing all these treasures, did you?
      Whitehead: Well, one has hopes.

    • Greg: (trying to figure out a way to escape Whitehead) The girls know where we are, right. They'll tell Mom and Dad, and they'll come and get us.
Peter: But you made the girls promise to keep a secret.
Greg: That's the point. Those blabbermouths never keep a secret!
