The boys found $1100 in the wallet. During the course of the show, this was how much the kids were paid per episode.
Mike: (to Carol) Boys should learn at an early age that girls are gonna cost them money for the rest of their lives.
Mike: This is rapidly becoming a house divided and you should be ashamed of yourselves.
Carol: And all because of something you don't even have.
Mike: Your mother and I share, we share our good fortunes with all of you.
Carol: Every day.
Mike: It's time you pull yourselves together and call a truce to this civil war, AND THAT'S AN ORDER!
Mike: Me and the "missus" got a great bunch of kids.
Greg: (on the phone to Mike, who's distracted and busy) See, we were playing football in a lot...
Mike: Yeah...
Greg: And we found eleven-hundred dollars!
Mike: (quickly) Yeah, that's great, Greg. See you tonight, okay? Bye. (hangs up; pause; looks up) Eleven-hundred dollars?!
Greg: (trying to borrow notebook paper from Marcia) I always share paper with you.
Marcia: Not when it's green with numbers on it, and you find it in a wallet.
Alice: (close-up shot on the phone; red-eyed, sniffling, and crying) Yes, that's a lot of money, and I'm sure you do need it. I'd like to help you, I really would. I'm sorry, but it just isn't the money we found. Good-bye. (hangs up; camera pulls back to show what's in her hand) Darned onions.
Peter: You can't divide 1,100 by 3. There's stuff left over.
Greg: 2/3 of a cent.
Peter: Well, that's money. Let's flip for it.
When Greg was pricing cars to buy, if he gets the money to buy one. Greg drives a car later on in the series.
The title for this episode obviously was inspired by the classic film The Treasure of Sierra Madre.
Mr. Stoner must be from back East (Maryland or New Jersey) , with his accent and the "Me and the Missus" expression. Victor Kilian was originally from New Jersey.
Alice: There they go (Peter and Bobby) 'Howard Hughes and 'J. Paul Getty'!
After Peter and Bobby explain the legalities of whether they would get the found money in the wallet by law.
