make this a summer series with a different year. The Yankees (Steinbrenner and Martin) have given us sooo much material to work with.

Huh. As far as I am concerned, ESPN makes the Yankees a summer series every season. Have you checked the lineup this year? If it weren't for Yankee games, what in the world would ESPN televise?

I know. Everytime there is MLB baseball brodcasted on ESPN its always like, "Diamondbacks @ Yankees" or "Yankees @ Red Sox", and it never televises teams like the Rangers and the Astros.

I would assume that ESPN realizes the drawing power of the Yankees, and that is why they are always televised. Most people either love the yankees or hate them, so either way you want to see them, whether it's to root for them or to root against them. What would a nationally televised game of Rangers/Royals draw?

I think they could do other seasons. And they seem to get most of the clubhouse stuff from "Balls" by Craig Nettles.
