So, the fans worst fears have been realized. With a "firm" commitment to 13 episodes, NBC has failed us again. The creator of THE CAPE was sure that NBC backed his new concept show, so much so that he assured fans in his unique website which integrated fan feedback with behind-the-sceans production blogs. Well, he was wrong. NBC has cut the order down to 10 episodes as of 2-1-11. Cancellation seems immenent. Will you miss the show, or did you have higher hopes for its run?

I see potential in the show but I dont know........its lacking action, a good story and interesting characters.

If the show gets cancelled, as of right now, I WILL NOT MISS "THE CAPE"...

The episode cut is clearly an indication that the show is being canceled. It probably would have already been dropped had NBC actually had something to replace it with. And I don't see a lot of fan interest in trying to save the show. I'm not even sure if I'll bother to watch the rest of the episodes, although I likely will. It's hard to watch a show knowing that it's not going to last.

But the creators really only have themselves to blame. The who deal with the family is completely pointless and just drags down the story. The Carnival of Crime seems to spend most of it's time sitting around and the Cape himself doesn't seem to have much of a plan for what he wants to do. Is he just hoping things are going to get better?

I like The Cape, but I'm not picturing it as a long-running show.

Yes lets blame a brilliant actress just because two networks(fox and nbc) are the biggest cancellation-maniacs in the world and that people who expected another heroes "we are connected" stuff and instead got a comic book.

.... Clearly. Just watch 'Serenity' or 'TSCC'. It's not the actors on this show, it's the damn plot and everything else about it!

are we honestly referencing her in 'Serenity' and not 'Firefly'? clearly something is wrong with not only the SHOWS she's picking but her fan base. although, I blame 'Firefly' on the network completely.

not sure why people are glad to see it go, though. it's so terrible it's amazing! there is a reason why the word kitsch came into being: to describe this show.

If they got rid of some of the Cape's family stuff which is making the show drag and instead added more new villains (stop having Scales in every episode) and ramp up the pace of the show it could be good, because the acting is not too bad, the script is just boring.

Not entirely surprised, the show seemed to lack any sense of direction or intrigue.

I agree with that statement, but do not blame her for the demise of The Cape. There are other forces working there. I like the basic premise of the show and some episodes were quite entertaining but although I wish for it to continue there are various things missing to make it a great show. Most of them can be corrected but, at least to me, one error was the selection of the main character (the Cape) actor and that can not be corrected.

"The curse of Summer Glau strikes again."

This show is not about Summer Glau. She has not shown her role yet. Truly, I don't see her really doing anything in "The Cape."

She did really great in "TSCC" though.

I have not kept up with it. I did see the pilot and about 3 eps. But it is pretty weak. Granted it is a comic book acted out but it seems too cartoon-like to really engage a wide enough audience.

Okay, it is embarrassingly bad. There. I said it.

well i thought the show (I like the batman atmosphere in it) was not bad itself but i think the show just suffered of low ratings cos it's kinda hard to compete with many good shows who's garnered more audience viewers - yeah so that's what the real cause is for the possibility of cancellation.

I think it will be cancelled unfortunately. I DESPISE The Event. I think it's extremely lame. Seriously? 24 wasn't political enough? I think this will be cancelled because it's not artsy enoughfor everybody here who seems to be Literature and Film majors. Yes. I'll miss it.
