TV.com Episode Review

  • IT WAS BETTER THAN WE EXPECTED!

The Carrie Diaries' Series Premiere: Bradshaw Begins

The Carrie Diaries isn’t quite like anything The CW has developed in recent years, and this is a very good thing.

  • Episode Summary

Sixteen year old Carrie Bradshaw is beginning her junior year of high school. But since she is juggling between being an older sister, caring for her dad and still trying to accept the death of her mother, life isn't quite what she hoped it would be. An internship from a law office in Manhatten may turn things around for her.

I found this new series nice, but I cant help thinking about all the things that are different with Carrie( her father had left her and her mother, her mother was alive, she hasnt got a sister, she lost virginity at 15 with a high school friend, she came to NYC when she was I hope this new stories make me forget all this things, but Im starting to see this new Carrie like a all new charactermoreless

Let's face it: SATC is yesterday's news and despite the retro-ness of Carrie's Diaries, it's fun for young and old alike. Especially the music!
    • Definetely worth watching!

I totally agree with trevbayers, I haven't seen a show like this in years. It's not a teen show, it brings you back to when you are younger and you can even see yourself sometimes. Carrie is an amazing character and I'm so glad they decided to make this series. Even thought you know what will happen in the future, you are still intrigued with how the series will play out as not much information on Carries teen life was revealed. Can't wait for next week!moreless

    • QUOTES (3)

      • Carrie: The city was no longer a fantasy, it was real. And I knew now I wasn't searching for someone or somebody here. I was searching for me. Who I was. Who I wanted to be. Finding my voice wasn't going to be easy. But for the first time, in a long time, I thought it might be fun.

      • Sebastian: So you're the princess who slays her own dragons.
Carrie: Well, somebody has to. It might as well be me.

      • Carrie: They say the key to being a writer is figuring out who you are. Finding your voice. Well that seemed to be the only thing I had found that day.

    • NOTES (3)

      • Viewership: 1.6 million people

      • The World Trade Center towers(1970-2001)were not included in any of the scenes of the pilot, even though it fits within the show's time frame. This was done deliberately by the producers so it wouldn't be possible painful reminder for any of the audience.
