  • Trivia

    • As Richard is walking around in snowy Tibet, he indicates several times that it is very cold by pulling his jacket around him and blowing on his hands, yet he never tries to zip the jacket up to keep warm.

    • While walking around in the snow, many characters can be seen to have faint shadows cast from several different directions, indicating the the whole Tibetan landscape was a studio set under artificial lighting; filming outside would only give a single shadow from the only natural light source, the sun.

    • GOOF: Craig throws a rock at the Chinese major, knocking the gun from his hand. When Richard drops the rock on the major after this, he still has the gun in his hand.

    • GOOF: The Chinese soldier is looking through binoculars during a snowstorm, but the shot of the image he sees through his binoculars shows no snow falling.

    • GOOF: The man in the laboratory begins to fall before Craig hits him.

  • Notes

    • There were many unusual things about 'The Champions', not least that it was one of the rare shows to be cancelled before it had even been screened. Filmed in 1967, but not broadcast until 1969 in the U.K. (it was sold to the rest of the world first), this fantasy series about secret agents with superpowers anticipated such telefantasies as 'The Six Million Dollar Man'. The show is a fine example of what William Gaunt, one of 'The Champions' lead stars, calls 'The White Jaguar School of British TV'. The same white Jag, usually hurtling down a lonely road towards a cliff, appeared in (among others) 'The Champions', 'Department S' and 'Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased)'. ITC accountants couldn't see why, if a character had to die, they couldn't save everyone money and effort by getting in the same car to set out on the same deadly ride.
