  • The perfect end?

The City was able to snag a second season despite lackluster ratings. I'm gladly Whitney Port's show is going to continue, she deserves it, but the question is whether or not there is any story left to tell.

How many times can we watch Allie and Adam bicker, fight and break-up? And why do we need another season of Whitney and Jay dancing around each other when everybody knows they will most likely get back together?

This could have been a good conclusion for the show as everybody is content. Olivia experienced success at DVF, but still has a huge hole in her love life. Whitney realized why she came here and what she needs to accomplish. Adam and Allie are soulmates, even if they aren't perfect together and Jay will always be the one that got away for Whitney. It could have been a storybook ending.moreless

    • Jay: So I kinda felt bad about the way everything ended.
      Whitney: You felt bad.
Jay: I just felt like I couldn't leave things the way... that there were things left between us and I wanted to see you. Obviously, I feel like I made a mistake and it took me going away to realize that I really love you, Whit. I do. I really do love you. They embrace tightly. I wanna be with you. I know it may be a little bit late, but it's better late than never.
Whitney: Yeah, but it's also too little, too late.
      Jay: You don't love me?
Whitney: I was falling in love with you. I lost myself in this, I totally did. I lost myself in us. I met you as soon as I moved here and I devoted so much of this that I didn't really pay attention to what I came here, and what I set out to do.
Jay: I wish you'd just give it a chance.
Whitney:I just need to be on my own right now. I think that you should focus on what you want to do and what you set out to do. And I'm going to go do what I came here to do... I'm sorry, Jay. Sorry. She turns and walks away, as Jay watches her leave, hands shoved in his pockets and a broken expression on his face.

    • Diane von Furstenburg: Absence is to love what the wind is to fire. When it's a small fire the wind kills it, but when it's a real fire it intensifies it. So the absence should do that. You see, the thing is that the most important relationship you have in your life is the relationship you have with yourself... Because no matter what happens you will always be with yourself.
